Great Idea..........2005-01-04

I was so excited when I heard the title Paperboy, and rented it immediately. It was interesting, but I think that the director could have made this a much better documenatry than he did. Just following around a few paperboys using some nice camera techniques is not great documentary filmmaking. If this filmmaker dove a little deeper into his subjects, I believe he could make a great film!

the director of this had a brilliant concept.
take a incredibly mundane subject and just analyze it.
in it he follows about 7 or so paperboys . he asks them what they think the future holds for papers boys or what music they listen to.
just this most mundane sounding source material results in a funny quasi emotional film.
the included feature "DEFORMER" is.... interesting.
i liked the directors choice of that elliot smith (RIP) song as the theme.
