Description

The Italian Air Force's Frecce Tricolori acrobat team was established in 1961. Currently the team flies 10 Italian made, Armacchi MB 339A/PAN jets. Unique to the Frecce Tricolori, it is the only acrobat team that flies 9 planes in formation and 1 plane specifically solo. By flying only one plane solo, rather than having various planes perform solo, the Frecce Tricolori is able to add more flexibility to their program and also fly tighter formations than any other team. The dynamism of the single solo maneuvers are captured by 3 cameras placed strategically throughout the cockpit.

Really disappointed! VERY bad quality of the picture; the equivalent of a video tape, It is a pity for a dvd !

As a currnet local to where the Tricolori fly and practice, I have seen them perform impromptu on several occasions. The DVD is a tribute to the cutting edge performance always given. This is also a memorial to the three aviators that lost their life in the crash. To their credit, the Tricolori have come back from this tragedy to their present and past glory. This video is the next best thing to being there LIVE. Kudos to Pioneer for a great experience.
