The long-defunct, Southern California band regrouped for an album, an expensive tour (expensive for ticket buyers, that is), and this televised special, which features the Eagles in performance. Laid-back but sharp and even stirring during a longish acoustic set, the guys quickly get past the nostalgia element and sound truly viable. They even make it look easy: the sight of Joe Walsh wearing glasses and sitting in almost perfect repose as he effortlessly colors old hits "Tequila Sunrise" and new material such as "Learn to Be Still" may make you wonder why you ever stashed that guitar in the attic. But the band eventually gets off their stools and rocks out on "Hotel California" and other Eagles standards. All in all, it's an enjoyable and mellowing show. --Tom Keogh

AMAZING!.......2007-08-30
Amazing performance! Acoustic Hotel California blew me away! Why couldn't The Beatles bury the hatchet before Mark David Chapman decide to play God?
Reunion of the century.......2007-08-02
Wow! After 14 years, who would have thought the Eagles would ever get back together?
This landmark event has been presented on a DVD with excellent sound and picture quality and includes interviews and clips of backstage antics. After a "fourteen year vacation", the Eagles prove that they still have what it takes to bring the house down. Their harmonies are still AMAZING and their guitar playing is just about some of the best around.
The only reason I give this 4 stars is because it is mostly a mellow performance from the band. With the exception of "Take It Easy" and "Life In the Fast Lane", the rest of the songs are ballads. Don't get me wong, the Eagles write amazing ballads, it's just that playing almost all of them back to back keeps the overall pace of the show pretty slow. Also, with just a couple of exceptions, most of the songs on this DVD are acoustic versions of some of their greatest hits. Again, I love hearing different arrangements and versions of classic songs, but it keeps the pace of the concert generally slow.
Any Eagles fan (like me) will absolutely LOVE this DVD. I still watch it at least 3 or 4 times a year.
Eagles- Hell freezes over- DVD.......2007-07-29
Yes this is a must have, incredible audio and exellent video coverage,a great concert dvd. I watch this on my computer in it`s DTS format piped through a Klipsch promedia 5.1 surround system, and the acoustics and vocals are amazing, nothing is missed. I think truly some of the best of the best of the Eagles to be seen and heard!
FANTASTIC SOUND AND PICTURE MAKE THIS A MUST HAVE!.......2007-07-08
I am a fan of the Eagles and never saw them live. This DVD looks and sounds great and the band plays and sings like the polished pros that they are. If I have one complaint it is the song selection. These guys have a lot of classic songs and they could have added a few more of the early classics for my taste. Other than that one complaint, this is a great music DVD to have in your collection.
And here's how it all started..........2007-07-03
This DVD has been rented from my local public library many times within my family so I finally decided to just go buy it!
This show is quite something especially when you consider it was made in '94. The Eagles were a solid group before and as Joe Walsh brings out, they still "show they can rock" on this DVD. There are multiple audio selections and the visuals are all very appropriate. The camera angles allow you to see much of the group throughout and you never really miss seeing the solos. That's something I particularly enjoy after seeing a lot of recorded shows where the camera switches to the drummer when the guitar player is noodling, or vica versa.
All around I give this DVD five stars because of how truly clean, entertaining, and even relaxing it is. If I were to relate the quality of this to any other DVD I own it would be to the Diana Krall: Live in Paris DVD.

super!.......2007-08-31
We LOVE this DVD. The quality is tops, the music is the best! I too agree with some reviewers that Don Henley comes across as hot-headed, which can be very irritating, because he looks like he wants all the attention. The other band members seem very down-to-earth and it was nice watching them.
Another great buy and addition to my collection.......2007-05-11
Simply great, sounds very nice with my home theatre speakers with it's dts digital surround. Video quality is superb especially with a use of super video digital cable.
Best sound on DVD.......2007-01-21
In this concert you don't see a laser show or video screens, no dancers, no back ground singers, just 5 guys with guitars sitting on the stage.... and they play some of the best music ever recorded on DVD. It still brings tears of joy whenever I play it.
PS play it on a big screen with DTS sound!
Incredible ..........2005-12-17
A nice wide screen TV, good set of speakers and this is pretty close to a religious experience. Incredible.
A Must Have For Your Collection.......2005-09-18
This is hands down THE BEST DVD I have. The music and sound are great. Everyone performs at their best. The documentary format gives a little behind the scenes entertainment. The rumors of Henley and the group being quintessential perfectionist are confirmed. Did I mention the music and the sound are great?
You can pop this DVD in & watch it or crank it up & walk away. I like to load it in when I read or surf the net. If you feel like watching it you can but like the other reviews have said, the music is terrific. I am actually thinking of buying another copy in case my first copy goes bad!!
