Juwanna Mann is aware of its own lack of originality, and it doesn't care--and that makes this routine comedy easy to enjoy, if not admire. It's Tootsie on the basketball court, dribbling over the same sexual-identity jokes, and pushing inevitably toward the same life lessons, this time learned by spoiled hoop star Jamal Jeffries (Miguel A. Nunez), who is ejected from the NBA, loses everything, and gains it back by posing as the vivaciously female "Juwanna Mann" in the "WUBA" basketball league. Utterly predictable high jinks ensue: Jamal in the ladies' shower; Jamal falling for his lovely team captain (Vivica A. Fox); Jamal fending off a lusty rapper (Tommy Davis, stealing the show)... and so on. If you like falling dominoes, you'll like this movie: it's played for easy laughs, it's relatively painless compared to, say, a Rob Schneider comedy, and it gets the job done. Jamal Jeffries is one basketball star who stirs up heat both on and off the court. This player's got game, girls and attitude to spare. But when one confrontation too many gets him booted out of the league, Jamal is going to need a lot more than a good agent to get him back on the courts. He's going to need brains, creative ball-handling, and just the right shade of lipstick. Jamal's only chance to get his game back is to join up with the other league- the women's basketball league. With coerced support from his reluctant agent and a heavily padded sports bra, Jamal transforms himself from the bad boy of basketball to its newest female role model: Juwanna Mann!

Miguel A Nunez was funny. It is so good. I know that the beginning of the part was a little carried away but it was still funny. And this movie is not a complete garbage. This movie gets 5 out of 5.

Classic Rasheed Wallace Cameo.......2004-08-18

Marginal movie at best. I knew it was going to be dumb, but I watched it anyway. I don't know how anyone can really be upset about this movie, if you read the back of the box you know exactly what to expect. Gender/Racial stereotypes are the driving force behind the humor and, as usual, these don't add a whole lot of value to the movie. I thought the Rasheed Wallace cameo was surprising and funny, but the movie overall is fairly predictable. Rent it if you want to switch your brain off for approximately 91 minutes, but don't expect it to win any retroactive awards.

Complete garbage!.......2004-07-11

I was forced to sit and watch this complete nightmare on a trip cross country. There is no humor in this, unless you have the mind of a pre-teen boy! Don't watch this crap! It not ony destroys modern film, but it enforces social stereotypes. Angry cocky black man, manipulative rich white man, foreigners are goofy, even so much as to say female athletes are all lesbians! This is racism, sexism, and cultural racism in one complete package!

Dumb, Silly, & Kind of Funny.......2004-03-27

Juwanna Mann is one of those movies where you wonder what ...the actors and director were thinking! I could see why Nunez Jr. ran for this role seeing how he hasn't had many starring roles but Vivica Fox, Kevin Pollack and Jenifer Lewis shocked ...me. I kept wondering why in the world they were so desperate they took part in this. The film isn't that bad, actually it's very funny but that fun can't help borderline on the verge of being pathetic. Proving a cheap film can still get laughs unless you take it too seriously. If you take this film seriously you're in trouble. The film has potential with the plot about a male NBA star getting kicked out of the NBA. He cooks up a master plot of going drag and playing women's pro ball in hopes the NBA will see what they are missing. From there we have the typical " Tootsie ". Juwanna falls for Vivica A. Fox, a teammate. Kevin Pollack plays the slimy agent who will do anything to make a buck. Singer Ginuwine has a small role as Romeo, Vivica's cheating boyfriend and Tommy Davidson plays Puff Smokey Smoke, the man whose heart is stolen by Juwanna who he nicknames ( one tall glass of water ). Surprisingly Tommy was the funniest character in the film. You never knew what he would do next and I hoped there would be more scenes with him and Juwanna. The basketball scenes ran too long and could have included more comedy. The film was very short but that was probably a blessing in this case. All in all the actors are talented and pull off this bad script well. But it's nothing that they should include on any resume list. In fact they should all forget they made this film and move on.

Ginuwine's "The Videos"........2005-07-18

These videos capture many of Ginuwine's great moments in music, but what I want to know is why if the title is "the videos" why would you leave out four of his videos from the 90s? Did the people think we would forget "Holler," "When Doves Cry," "Pony (Remix)," and "Same Ol' G", because I know I didn't forget about those videos. That's why I think they should do another dvd for Ginuwine, making sure that they put all of his videos and maybe even some extra stuff also, because if they can remember to put his more recent videos like, "Hell Yeah" and "In Those Jeans"(the ones i didn't really like)they can remember to put his classic work from the 90s! That's why I gave this item 4 stars.

I didnt even see this dvd being advertised, but I was searching through the music dvds in the store and found it. Since I'm a big fan of Ginuwine, I had to get it. As the other reviewer stated, all of his videos are on it and there is a biography of him. I like it.
