5 out of 5 stars Tal Live...History on DVD.......2006-03-09

This is a great DVD if you love Bebop and Tal's music. Is is a very good recording and the music is wonderful. He was a true master and his ability was so evident on this disc. I'm glad I own it!

5 out of 5 stars Great jazz that entertains and inspires!.......2004-10-26

This video was recorded live in 1988 at Bowling Green State University. You can really see Tal putting a lot of effort into his playing. Tal's fast and melodic guitar does not sound or look easy. This is in stark contrast to the Wes Montgomery Belgium concert where Wes plays impossible solos in a smooth and buttery fashion. You can tell Tal practiced and struggled to achieve his trademark sound. What an inspiration! Tal is human like me! Maybe if I practice and study hard I too can play great jazz guitar. After watching this DVD Tal's inspiration will rub off on you, and improve the quality of your playing.

Now here's the fine print:
Video image quality is excellent.
Sound quality is excellent.
Songs played: Lil' Darlin', Misty, Satin Doll, Autumn Leaves, Time After Time, Body and Soul, Just Friends, Sophisticated Lady, and Billie's Bounce.
Personal are Tal Farlow (g); Chris Buzzelli (g); Jeff Halsey (b); and Jerry McKenzie (d). Watching bass player Jeff Halsey is real treat, he plays the upright with the speed and ease of a uke, WOW!
