46 year old rocker! .......2006-03-10
Well, out of all my rock DVD's, this one takes the cake. I give the sound a 2 out of 10, Picture a 4. If you like to see grown men look and ack like girls, this DVD is for you. What nerve people have to put this out. Stick your but in someone elses face Rod, and I'll stick to the tough guys.
Be aware this is OLD tv camera stuff........2006-01-22
You have to beware. This is old TV stuff that is not the best. Still, it makes me glad that I have this in my library. It is worth about five bucks to me, but still, I am glad I have it. Makes me glad wonder why we don't have more vintage footage of the great Rod.
If You're Not A Faces Fan, Hit The Back Button...........2005-07-02
This review is for any true fan of the legendary band, The Faces (if you're not, just hit the back button on your browser now).
Yes, in today's "ultra-digtal", "iPod age", the audio and video are not up to standards; but what do you expect! This was recorded back in 1974. Bottom line is this: to see a slightly strung-out Keith Richard & a young, vital Ronnie Wood duel out Chuck Berry riffs on "Sweet Little Rock & Roller" is worth the price of this dvd alone. These guys just don't kick it out the jams like this anymore.
Again let me repeat, you got Keith! Being a diehard, longtime Stones fan, his appearance on this dvd is just flat out wicked. There are not that many mid-70's era Stones videos out there; any live Keith is a blessing. Seriously, the audio is very good soundboard & the video is really pretty good considering the technololgy at the time. So, if you know where I'm coming from (meaning you own all the Faces albums on vinyl) purchasing this dvd is a no brainer. If you expect 5.1 audio & digital quality video, look elsewhere. It don't need to be pretty to be rock n' roll, 'nuff said!
A bit of advice.......2005-05-27
Do not, I repeat, do not buy this DVD! I have always liked early Rod Stewart recordings, but apparently that was because I had never seen him perform before. Rod is much more concerned with primping his hair, and shaking his butt than singing. The only redeeming value to this DVD is Ron Wood's guitar playing. Rod's stage antics, however, ruin even this for me. The best part of the show is when Rod leaves the stage during one of Ronnie's leads. Unfortunately, he comes back.
Amazing!.......2002-08-30
This DVD showcases the wonderful chemistry between Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Not the best production quality in the world, but definitely worth owning.
