Suicide might be better???.......2005-02-06
With the exception of Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark", this DVD is like the cops usually say when somone's been splattered all over there road "There's nothing here to see . . . move along." If this is someone's concept of "Essential" 80's Hard Rock then they need an enema and fast. WTF? The Bulletboys? R U serious? I think I'd rather chew broken glass than watch a video from Faster Pussycat. Where's Maiden? Where's Judas Priest? Where the f*ck is Ratt at least or Motley Crue or even Motorhead? Can we really say that Bulletboys is the benchmark for 80's Hard Rock? I think not.
Please pan my review!!!!.......2004-04-07
How can 13 of 13 people have found the last review helpful? Most of it was given over to listing the videos on the DVD, but you could have gotten that from the "product description."
The reviewer's sole contribution is the following:
"Too short at 26 minutes" and "Ok this is not a bad music DVD but I wish it were longer."
Are these two reactions really that helpful? Would you have expected anything else after looking at the product description?
I think this guy just had his friends and family come and vote on his review. :) He'll probably have them come back and pillory mine.
Your friend,
Milhouse

A flashback to an unforgetable era.......2005-02-19
1985 to 1995 was definitely a great era for hard-rock music, pop metal or hair metal bands. Time for great drummers such as Vikki Fox formerly in Enuff Z'nuff and then with Vince Neil and virtuoso guitar player such as Steve Stevens who's actually in 2 clips: Atomic Playboys and Sister of Pain.
The dvd has 6 clips and the only one I dislike is Rough Cutt's Piece of my Heart ... very trashy and ridiculous by the way ...
This dvd could have more songs in it, but I think having just a few of them is the idea of Flashback Records, so price is down also.
For those who miss MTV.......2004-12-22
Well these videos are what they are, pop/hair metal. My favorite on here is 'Bathroom Wall' by Faster Pussycat. I like the really grainy black n white footage.
ANother cool vid is Steve Stevens 'Atomic Playboy'. He was the guitar player for Billy Idol before he went on to his solo work. I like the begining when the old government guy announces "I am not an atomic Playboy'.
Vince Neil's video rocks. Guess he had some angst to air out after he and Motley Crue decided to take a break from each other. The chick in Vince's video is even hotter than the girl in Winger's 'Seventeen'.
None of this was really groundbreaking work, but for those who like to have fun with their music and not get depressed from grunge, this should lift your spirits a bit.
ROck on.

3 Stars for Pantera and Orgy.......2005-04-05
Small selection of Alternative Metal hits. Collection is short with only 6 videos. But what do you want for 7 dollars? About a dollar or so a video. Though i wouldnt even pay a dollar for some of these videos ,they suck that bad. The first 4 arent good. The pantera video was really cool (...). Thats the reason I got this dvd- If you want a couple cool videos get it or if your looking for a specific video. Other than that its not worth it.
Videos-
Filter- Hey Man, Nice Shot from Short Bus (1995)
Janes Addiction- Mountain Song from Nothings Shocking (1988)
Faith No More- Midlife Crisis from Angel Dust (1992)
Ministry- N.W.O. from Psalm 69 (1992)
Pantera- Walk -from Vulgar Display of Power (1992)
Orgy- Fiction (Dreams In Digital) from Vapor Transmission (2000)
Not worth the money.......2004-05-26
I wouldn't buy this DVD. The only good video is Orgy's.

All live, some not even pro shot !!!.......2007-06-15
I buy all metal DVDs. I have a wall full of them. This is the worst one I ever bought. Why ? 21 songs, only four are video clips. I actually own most of the DVDs these live clips come from ( Poison live with Ritchie Kotzen, the Cinderella live DVD, Motorhead Stagefright, even Accept - I have their live DVD ).
Speaking of which, the Accept song has got a voice over through it, and that DVD has the clip, which they could have used instead !!!
Artists like Anthrax and Poison ( OK, I have all their clips on DVD anyhow ), are not even the original band that released the song included.
At least two of these songs were recorded by a fan with a video camera in the audience, in the later years of the band. At least 3 others look like they were lifted of VHS taped from the TV in 1990.
The point of this compilation is to give you some songs from a number of live DVDs that DeadLine release. Nowhere do they claim these songs are the original video clips, but it's implied, in my book, and low quality, the usual mix of good and bad songs to start with, and the fact that most of these are live, makes this a total ripoff in my book.
DVD:
- Fearing the Exit
- Feels Like the Very First Time: The Foreigner Story
- Finally
- Fleetwood Mac: The Early Years
- Follow the Don
- Gabriel Yared - Clavigo / Le Riche, Osta, Gillot, Bridard, Saiz, Petit, Bernas, Paris Ballet
- Gary Numan In Concert
- Giuseppe Sinopoli - Dreampaths of Music - From the Rhine to the Nile (Beethoven Symphony No. 7 / Schumann Symphony No. 3 / Wagner Prelude to Parsifal)
- Great Irish Sing-Along
- Guitar Signature Licks: Famous Rock Guitar Riffs and Solos
