Great.......2007-08-28
Now, if only they would release performances from the other artists that were at woodstok. This doesn't have all the pseudo-psych filming that over time has gotten in the way of the woodstock movie. This is a great show.
WOW.......2007-08-20
I heard Eddie Kramer say that this is not one of Jimi's better performances.......I can see that maybe it is not his most consistent, but some of his performances are as bad as it gets. (Bad in the best sense of the word)This really is some of the greatest electric guitar playing ever captured, and the sound of this DVD is outstanding. Crank it up on the surround sound!!!!
Awesome.......2007-08-14
Every track is wonderful, and there is an interesting short documentary at the beginning of the main feature. on the second disc, beside the extra B&W footage there is a press conference with Jimi that happened about a week after Woodstock that's really cool. There is also an interesting interview with Larry Lee (Guitar) and Billy Cox (Bass) performing R&B with Jimi in the early sixties in the Tenessee Chitlin' Circuit. Also included is an interview with Eddie Cramer about recording the festival.
But the music is the main part and the pperformance is absolute genius.
Worth every penny, and then some.......2007-07-06
This is most of Hendrix full set at Woodstock, and if you own the
Woodstock DVD, there is missing footage of the Hendrix set.
Well these guys dug through garbage cans, and home video to get every
scrap of video available. The story is told in the include booklet.
These guys dug through trash cans to get every piece of 16mm film, some
B&W, and private footage, that is the only footage that exists when the
film crew ran out of film simultaneously, and a student videographer was
still rolling is priceless. TO find footage to complete the Star Spangled
Banner only now, and enhance it, enhance the audio, remix it to 5.1, and
come out with a DVD that is worth every penny is so excellent! I can not
thank them enough for their hard work in producing this DVD.
If you own the Woodstock DVD set, buy this, you will not be sorry. If you
are a Hendrix fan, this is a simple must have. If you are a Woodstock
fan, this is a must have. Actually, if you are a Baby Boomer... There is
footage on this DVD that has never been published before... And only $10.
Jimi Hendrix...Woodstock....this a classic...........2007-06-08
This is probably the best DVD you can own if you want to capture the magic of Jimi Hendrix.

Those familiar with the original Isle of Wight DVD/VHS release will be pleasantly surprised by Blue Wild Angel. For one thing, the soundtrack has been remixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround. Hendrix's legendary Isle of Wight show may have been notoriously riddled with technical difficulties, but in all honesty, it is one of his better live recordings, and Eddie Kramer's remix sounds superb. Next, Blue Wild Angel includes many songs missing from the original release such as "Lover Man," "Foxey Lady," "Message to Love," "Ezy Rider," and "Purple Haze." By far the highlights of the performance are the mesmerizing, newly unedited versions of "Red House" and "Machine Gun." Finally, as an added bonus, the concert is introduced by a mini documentary about Hendrix's involvement with the Isle of Wight festival. This introduction is told through new interviews with Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox, and Eddie Kramer and footage from Murray Lerner's Message to Love: The Isle of Wight Festival rockumentary. Blue Wild Angel is a great addition to any Hendrix fan's collection. --Rob Bracco

Honest Portrayal of a Guitar Genius.......2007-08-23
This movie is an honest glimpse into what it is to be Jimi Hendrix on stage. It's not just clips of the performace edited together; it is a rolling scene of the performance. The line-up, including Billy Cox on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums, is perhaps the most inspired line-up that Jimi performed with! The direction and production is straight-forward and a true attempt at an objective view of the show.
Well done documentation of a flawed performance.......2007-07-23
The video is great. ANY Hendrix fan (and I am definitely one) ought to own this. It is a very well done video, in terms of camera, not too much bio material, just a good recording of a sub-par performance.
I don't know what other folks are seeing here, but if you read about Hendrix, he was apprehensive, he was thin, dead tired, and there were also technical glitches. Hendrix' performance at Berkeley (BREATHTAKINGLY soulful) and other are so superior to this performance.
I am a guitarist, and know the frustration he was obviously feeling (I've even done the sigh, like he does about a third of the way through...he was just not happy with his playing himself that night) and look at how much time he is running to the side of stage, trying to tell them things to fix. Everything was going wrong for him that night. From the start, he didn't want to be closing band (but Jethro Tull beat him out of being second from last), power problems...he had to wait to go on til they could sort that out, then just as he was going to go on, he ripped the seat of his costume...which anyway had sleeves that got in the way of playing. Then his sound onstage...it was NOT what he wanted. The feedback was not controlled...not coming when he wanted it, and WAS feeding back when he didn't want, pedals flipping over, queues missed... lackluster (some of them) solos...it was frustrating as can be for him.
So I don't know how so many others are missing this. He has to ruch lyrics, makes false starts at some, forgets lyrics, The strat goes out of tuning right off, and never quite gets back, and the flying V also.
and I love Hendrix. He was fantastic, and he does have his moments. He was definitely throughout ALMOST getting there...but he had so many unfortunate things going on, it was a huge effort. I think that's what he meant about 2/3rds of the way through when he mentiond "I just woke up", I think it was his state of mine, yes, but also that he just started getting "locked in", getting things grooving. It picks up at the end, and even in the beginning there are ALWAYS moments where he is brilliant...even here. Any Hendrix Fan ought to have this performance, and this is the best DVD to own of it. Just, you ought to know going in, it doesn't have the soulful moments...the amazing extended sidetrips like Berkely, or Band of Gypsys. He really doesn't look well here, and Mitch Mitchell tries to help out, being given several drum solos, trying to give Hendrix a breather so he can gather his strength and make a new stab.
Simply put, the performance never gels, never quite gets off the ground. Not for want of effort, just...the gods were not with him that day. I don't think he was inspired, but at teh same time he DID manage to keep going..playing a full set. And there are definitely moments here too, as I think probably in ALL Hendrix performances. At one point the camera for some reason focuses on a guy in the audience who at that moment is into what Hendrix is doing (because it IS good) and while playing...it is like the air goes out of the solo, and you can read it on this guys face too.
I get tired from it, it is frustrating.
Historically significant...not a good performance.......2007-06-30
First of all look at the cover...It's in red and black and says 'Blue Wild Angel'? How lame is that? If you research the rest of this tour most of the shows were considered bad. Jimi just did'nt care at this point in time. That being said, there are some good moments(though no great ones imo). The show seems to start well and end well but is hit and miss in the middle. Jimi did'nt want to be there and it shows. However they do play for a long time...Jimi is visibly tired and stoned...and out of tune most of the time...this DVD is for die hard fans and collectors...made me sad to watch actually...Jimi deserves better and this should not have been released...just because you can does'nt mean you should...
Half Bad.......2007-05-30
The first half of this performance is horrible due to equipment problems. The second half of the performance is great. It's worth buying for the second half of the performance. Too bad they did All Along the Watchtower during the first half of the performance.
One of the best-filmed Hendrix concerts, even if not one of his best.......2007-04-09
This concert is a must have for Hendrix fans for all the reasons listed by others below, plus it comes with the whole concert on 2 CDs, even the 3 songs not on the DVD (Hey Baby, Hey Joe and Midnight Lightning, the latter is mistakenly listed on the box as being on the DVD but isn't), which was a nice surprise. The film quality is great, almost the whole concert is shown, unlike the horrible edited versions of the past, and the concert is not as bad as some might say, although many greater ones have been preserved on tape. On some songs he's distracted by equipment problems, but on others you really can see Hendrix at his best. It's just an uneven concert really, but worth having nonetheless. My only complaint is that this DVD is 'PCFriendly', and so unlike every other DVD in my collection, wouldn't play on my PC as I only had 4 GB free on my hard disk. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a 'PCUnfriendly' version that simply plays by popping it into your disk drive, so I would suggest anyone without a DVD player and a full hard disk take into consideration that you won't be able to watch this DVD. However, still 5 stars for a great release.

Made less than a year before his death in September 1970, Band of Gypsys was an album recorded live to fulfill a contractual obligation for a long-forgotten deal Jimi Hendrix signed when he still spelled his name "Jimmy." Hendrix had just disbanded the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and in order to dispense with the album as quickly as possible, he put together a new trio featuring Billy Cox (an old Army buddy) and drummer Buddy Miles, whose bombastic singing and thudding drum style would soon pollute FM airwaves across the nation. (Former Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell refers to him here as "William the Concreter," for his cement-mixer sense of rhythm.) They booked the Fillmore East with the idea of recording the shows for a live album, and this DVD features recently unearthed film footage of that historic performance, with Hendrix at the top of his powers (despite Miles's excesses). It also offers several other rare live performances from British clubs in the mid-1960s. The musical moments are mixed with new interview footage, including conversations with the self-effacing Cox and the self-aggrandizing Miles. If you've only heard the CDs (Band of Gypsys and Jimi Hendrix: Live at the Fillmore East), you've only gotten half of this particular Jimi Hendrix experience. --Marshall Fine

Hendrix in a different light.......2007-04-12
If you have never seen The Band of Gypsys live at the Fillmore there are two things you need to know. The actual concert footage is black and
white. The quality is not all that great and the sound could definitely be better. The second thing is that it is great. Hendrix was totally focused primarily because I think he knew they were recording an album to fulfill a contract commitment he got into with Capitol. Hendrix, Buddy Miles , and Billy Cox were tight but there was also a fluidity in there playing that allowed Hendrix to be spontaneous making his performances unique. It was a shame that this group did not go on to do other projects. Hendrix was in his element and it was evident. If "MACHINE GUN" were the only song on this DVD it would be worth it. He was just amazing to watch and even after all these years he is still one of the most profound and innovative guitar players of our time.
Another aspect of "the Band of Gypsys" is that Buddy Miles and Hendrix share the vocal responsibilities giving the band another dynamic unlike the "Experience". Miles drumming and Billy Cox's bass playing gave Jimi a solid foundation to work on. I liked the soul inspired songs they did together. The film part of the DVD is designed as a documentary with interviews by Buddy Miles, Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell and everyone else that was in some way connected with this project. Actually I could have lived with out it but my guess is that there was so little actual concert footage [not to mention the quality] that I think they thought they had to put something else in there to compensate. I can't help thinking that there is more footage that just hasn't been released yet. What about the 2nd night they played? And during the documentary part there was some color film footage, where is it? Anyway, I am sure there is more yet to be released and when it does I will be there eagerly waiting.
5 stars for historical footage that could not be improved upon.......2007-04-09
If you're new to Hendrix though, be warned that genuine footage from the trenches of the Western Front from 1916, as well as plenty of footage from WW2, exists with far better picture quality than this Hendrix concert, although shot after man had landed on the moon. In fact, it's not much better than the moon-landing footage itself. How this can be will always remain a mystery to me, but clearly this fact is beyond the control of anybody trying to release what was filmed in a commercially viable form. I think they did a pretty good job, although I still feel this CD is more of historical interest and could be hard to digest for a non-Hendrix fan, or could put off the uninitiated. If you're looking for your first Hendrix DVD, rather get the film Jimi Hendrix, Woodstock or the Isle of Wight.
a classic,hear other performers.../M.D.//..........2007-01-09
The Audio CD is more musical than the DVD,perhaps with strange apparatus.
DVD DOCUMENTARY SHEDS NEW LIGHT ON HENDRIX'S LEGENDARY "BAND OF GYPSYS!".......2006-10-02
Since today in 2 October 2006, Before I start my whole review, I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to my Dad who is also the biggest inspiration in my life. There is no man I respect more. Love You Dad, J.L.
I will be doing a review on the legendary historic DVD documentary simply entitled "Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gypsys - Live At The Fillmore East" by the late great guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. As always, I will be editing this review from time to time so that you the consumer will get the best and most accurate review possible. Before I begin, I would highly suggest that you read my other reviews on Jimi's legendary historic landmark concerts at the "Monterey Pop Festival" on 18 June 1967, the "Woodstock Festival" on 18 August 1969, "Jimi Plays Berkeley" on 30 May 1970, "Rainbow Bridge Film And Concert" on 30 July 1970 and the "Isle Of Wight Festival" on 30 August 1970. They are long reviews and I do deeply apologize for that, but they do contain a lot of valuable information on Jimi that you might find very interesting. I do hope that you will read and enjoy all five reviews when time permits. It would also help me greatly in shortening this long review and not have to add all of that information from my previous five reviews in this review.
For me personally, this marks the sixth review that I have written on Jimi Hendrix's legendary concert series which focus's on some of his most memorable and unforgettable concert performances in Rock n' Roll history. This DVD documentary release of the "Band Of Gypsys Live At The Fillmore East," despite winning a Grammy, is exactly what it was originally intended to be, a documentary. This performance was NEVER filmed or meant to be a concert film, let alone a documentary. This DVD documentary release features the ONLY known Color and Black and White RARE footage of the group in concert performing such songs as the POWERFULLY EXPLOSIVE "Machine Gun," "Who Knows," "Izabella," "Fire" and "Foxey Lady" from the legendary guitarist's 31 December 1969 and 1 January 1970 Fillmore East performances. These live performances were originally released on vinyl and cassette as a partial compilation entitled "Hendrix - Band Of Gypsys" in 1970. Many rock critics as well as many Hendrix fans have wondered if the "Band Of Gypsys" complete Fillmore East performances would ever be released. There have been numerous bootlegs of these performances that have surfaced through the years but with bad sound quality. That suspense would finally end years later with the 1999 release of the 2-CD set entitled the "Band Of Gypsys Live At The Fillmore East" along with this DVD documentary, also released separately in 1999. The revolutionary impact Jimi Hendrix, Bassist Billy Cox and Drummer Buddy Miles had upon the boundaries and definitions of Rock, R&B and Funk can be traced into four concerts over the course of two evenings. The story of this ground-breaking music is finally told here in interviews with Jimi, and for the first time, ALL FOUR of his bandmates, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding, Billy Cox and Buddy Miles. Also contributing interviews are fellow Hendrix DIEHARDS such as Lenny Kravitz, Vernon Reid, Slash and Jimi's original Engineer Eddie Kramer.
First of all, I would like to deeply apologize to all the readers for my long reviews. The reason why I did this is because I feel that it's my responsibility as a reviewer to provide as much information on the main topic to the readers as possible. Please keep in mind that all of the information that is discussed in this review is based on facts disclosed from numerous Hendrix biographies. Enough of that, it is now time to take a journey back in time to the Fillmore East performances on 31 December 1969 and 1 January 1970.
To begin, the idea of the "Band Of Gypsys" was the mastermind of Jimi with the intensions of creating a new sound consisting of combining Rock n' Roll with Soul, R&B and Funk. With this new sound, Jimi had high hopes in drawing the black audiences to his concerts other than the white audiences which were all of his audiences. To achieve this experiment, Jimi would have to recruit Drummer Buddy Miles and his long-time friend and Army buddy, Bassist Billy Cox to accomplish this. In reality, Jimi TRULY believed that he had the PERFECT combination of musicians needed to accomplish this creativity of the new sound he was after mainly because ALL THREE shared the same ideas in combining Rock n' Roll with Soul, R&B and Funk. The four shows that the "Band Of Gypsys" performed at The Fillmore East is EVERYTHING that Jimi had hoped for, and is a TRUE TESTAMENT of the new sound that was to evolve into a reality. With the success of these four shows, it would seem that the "Band Of Gypsys" would stay together and continue further into this new sound with the advancement of bigger and better things. But it was not to be.
There was one BIG problem, Jimi's Manager Mike Jeffery. Jeffery opposed and hated Jimi's new ideas and the direction he was heading. Jeffery had different ideas as to the direction Jimi should be heading. Jeffery's main objective and goal was to REFORM the ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE consisting of Drummer Mitch Mitchell and Bassist Noel Redding. Hendrix opposed and hated that idea due to the fact that Hendrix did not want to work with Redding ever again. This incident would be one of MANY which would result in DISASTER and would eventually start developing into personal matters and bitter differences between Hendrix and Jeffery. With this problem escalating, Jeffery would DELIBERATELY and MALICIOUSLY CONSPIRE in DESTROYING Jimi's new ideas and PLOTTING in breaking up the "Band Of Gypsys." When Jeffery finally succeeded in breaking up the "Band Of Gypsys," Jimi would make an effort in compromising and complying with Jeffery's CONTROLLING DEMANDS by keeping Billy Cox and bringing Mitch Mitchell back to resume his duties as Jimi's Drummer. With this new band line up, Jeffery volunteered and took it upon himself, in FIRING Miles and then DELIBERATELY blamed it on Jimi by saying that "it was Jimi's idea." With Jimi having to put up with MANY of Jeffery's CROOKED SCHEMES, you may ask yourself, why didn't Jimi just fire Mike Jeffery? According to numerous Hendrix biographies, it wasn't that simple. In reality, the truth is that Jimi DID attempt in trying to sever all ties with Jeffery on many occasions, but was unsuccessful in doing so despite seeking legal assistance. What it all comes down to is that Jeffery had Hendrix in a HEADLOCK, Hendrix was bound and controlled under contract with Jeffery. Jimi's contract with Jeffery was IRONCLAD and UNBREAKABLE. This is one of many stressful incidents and factors that would eventually build up in Jimi resulting in him going into a deep depression. Jimi's drug abuse would worsen as a result of his depression. With these two factors, and Jimi's lack of sleep, they would hinder and alter Jimi's destiny in his masterful creativity and would affect his personality on stage in which he would no longer be the charismatic showman he was always known for in order to deliver the great performances.
In closing, Jeffery's responsibilities, as Manager, should have been the handling of Jimi's business and financial matters ONLY and should have left Jimi alone when it came to the band, creating music and performing on tour. I also believe that Jeffery was NOT looking after Jimi's best interests. Maybe Jeffery was trying to hold Jimi back because he was worried about how Jimi's white audience would react to Jimi's new band, new sounds and music as a result of being TOO FAR ADVANCED AHEAD OF HIS TIME. Then again, what Manager, such as Jeffery, has the right to tell THE GREATEST GUITARIST THAT EVER LIVED what kind of music HE thinks Jimi should be playing or who HE thinks Jimi should have in his band! It is too bad that Jeffery isn't alive to defend himself and answer these questions, he would later die in a plane crash in 1973. Despite all of the many tensions and disasters, it is STILL evident to this day, thirty-six years later, that Jimi Hendrix's accomplishments and his masterful skilled guitar playing is still as big of an influence in Rock n' Roll today then it was back then when Jimi was alive which shows that he has NEVER been forgotten as long as Rock n' Roll music as well as music, in general, STILL EXISTS. And since I feel confident of this, Jimi Hendrix's name will ALWAYS be mentioned above ALL the LEGENDARY GUITAR GREATS and his music will FOREVER influence many more generations to come to time indefinite. Thanks for reading my long and lengthy review and I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it for all of you. I also hope that you will read all of my other reviews in the near future when time permits. JIMI LIVES! LONG LIVE ROCK N' ROLL! Rock out always. Take care, J.L.

Customer Reviews:
"mqultra" The 60's Rock Experience Live.......2007-09-13
... This is a difficult product to evaluate because it's such a mishmash of material... audio and video quality between sound-tracks or DVD "chapters" varies considerably. There are audio problems in the 5.1 channel mode down-mixed into 2.0 channel stereo from a standard Sony DVD player into the test equipment which is a state-of-the-art Bose Acoustic Wave Music System coupled with monster brand cable connections and audio grade Xindak XF-500 power filters. The disc 2.0 channel stereo mode is mostly not bad and that is the primary option in the DVD audio set-up menu.
Musically speaking, I don't like Jim Morrison; Jimi Hendrix; Janis Joplin or Joan Baez with the exception of The Doors in the original "Apocalypse Now" movie soundtrack.
The best of the so-called "classic clips" of Credence Clearwater Revival "Down on the Corner" and "Bad Moon Rising" are totally cutoff abridged versions lasting only about two minutes and forty seconds, combined playing time. In other words, about half of their original running time in the original recordings. Audio & video quality in this case is also poor even for the vintage material that it is. There are also constant, annoying narrations and commentaries and commercials in between each chapter or music video soundtrack... PBS should've just flashed their distinctive logo at the lower right or left-hand corner of the t.v. every 15 or 20 minutes or whatever with no interruptions in between chapters or music video soundtracks.
Graphics are good, but there are injection molding problems in the fabrication of the plastic case... the disc spins around whereas it should fit snugly. The disc itself is only of standard quality.
In any event, the best of the live performances are the Byrds, the Grass Roots and Steppenwolf, by far. Particularly, "Magic Carpet Ride," but these aren't the complete original bands only what's left of them so the original "synergy" is lost. And for somebody who said that he "smoked a lot of grass, and popped a lot of pills," Jon Kay of "Steppenwolf" ("a symbol of man's alienation... and his strength") is certainly looking good for his age... he must be pushing 70 years old by now.
To sum up; in dialectic logic you can't fall on "fractions" so, if you want our opinion, we don't give "half" stars and this particular product only has a combined average rating of 3 stars when weighed against other similar products that are currently available on the market.
Note: When we say that the 2.0 channel stereo mode is "mostly not bad" actually, it's of considerably high quality in some instances like "Magic Carpet Ride" and under par or very bad quality in other instances.
Loved it!!.......2007-08-26
How fun to watch your old favorites and recall great memories. Especially great for baby boomers.
Great 60's Music Performed Live.......2007-05-20
This DVD is a must have for any 60's music fan. It is really great to see Roger McGuinn of The Byrds, Rob Grill of The Grass Roots, John Kay of Steppenwolf, Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, and Scott MacKenzie still performing and going strong today. Also includes clips of some other great performing artists.
The 60's Rock Experience is really far-out and groovy man!.......2007-04-06
One of the best features of this DVD is that it shows the complete music video from beginning to end without interruptions. I really hate it when they switch to an interview with the band in the middle of the song, and this does NOT happen on this DVD.
If you want to "take a trip without leaving the farm", then this DVD is for you! It's great to hear those old songs again and you get to see what the groups look like now and then. I am really impressed with this DVD.
Take it from an "Old Hippie", if I liked it then you will too!
Dan
Cheesy at times.......2006-03-19
The good parts are choppy and along with the many comments on the fake applause: check out Let's Live For Today and Midnight Confesseions by The Grass Roots starring Rob Grill, the lead singer is not even playing the bass guitar. It is so obvious.

Customer Reviews:
Great movies at a great price.......2007-07-31
I got this set fot like $5 and it was the best purchase I made recently. I really just wanted The Blair Witch Project but when I found I chould get all this cheaper than just that movie I was amazed. It was the first movie with all special features and everything and the second movie, and the pc games. And a neckless for such a low price I was amazed. The Blair Witch Project might be one of the greatest horror movies ever. I thought Book of shadows: Blair Witch 2 was also a great movie, you just have to look at it as a film based loosly on the events and the movie release of the first film. You cant look at it as a sequel. I have not played the pc games yet but am told they are good also.
Great Experience.......2006-11-23
If I'm the last person on earth to have seen this, let me know, but I thought this box set was a terrific value. would never have bought the DVDs separately or the computer games, but thanks to this package, I now have the original, the sequel, and the games. After watching the original Blair Witch disc, I found the main attraction was the movie commentary. It is very interesting, and it provides insight and facts about the movie and how it was really made. As for the sequel, it wasn't all that bad, nor was it that great either. As the movie started, I thought that it could turn out to be a pretty good but that promise faded as the movie progressed. Still, it's very watchable and you do get a bonus with the Book of Shadows DVD. The flip side of the disc contains four songs along with the score from the movie in regular CD format.
5 stars for Blair Witch 1
3 stars for Blair Witch 2
4 stars for the PC games
4 stars for the extras
Good value over all.
Get This If You Can!!!.......2004-12-30
If you're going to buy The Blair Witch, you might as well try to get your hands on The Blair Witch Experience. I personally was not a big fan of Blair Witch Two, but you can buy this "Experience" boxset from one of the independent resellers for the same price, if not cheaper than buying Blair Witch by itself. Basically, you can get Blair Witch Two for free, plus the three Windows-based games. When I bought this, I really did it because I figured I could get Blair Witch Two for free - why not, right? Although I love games, I really didn't these games would be anything special at all. I gotta tell ya, I was pleasantly surprised - very Resident Evil - esque.
Which witch is which!!!!!!.......2004-10-07
Blair Witch is more of cult thing its not the best its not the worst but allin all both movies are a joy to watch.
BW2 I love the most its chee-z and bloody and just fantastic.
I had the pleasure to see it at a press screening and let me tell you as soon as Mansons Disposable Teens came blaring on the shuffling sound of about 50 journalists writng their disapproval was laugh out loud funny!!!!!
Some of them were actually holding their ears this coming from supposed liberal minded people in a big city!!!!
Anyway ive watched BW2 over and over and over again I just love it this box set is fantastic and I got it cheap.
Brand new mint condition 8 bucks!!!!!!!!
HA!!
A Little Disappointed.......2003-11-14
Bought this set mainly to get Blair Witch in Widescreen format. The description here said it was. Unfortunately, when it arrived, only the Blair Witch 2 was in Widescreen. Blair Witch was in Fullscreen. Still scary though.

" I APPRECIATE YOU".......2004-09-22
I "CAN'T HELP MYSELF", I must say that I truly enjoyed being part of the "LIVE EXPERIENCE" Concert performed by none other than RANCE ALLEN, featuring other Great Gifts to Gospel. This "LIVE EXPERIENCE" has left me feeling overwhelmingly joyful. To hear, see and feel the beauty of God's Grace through song just "MAKE ME WANNA DANCE". This magnificent experience has led me to express wholeheartedly the meaning of the words song by this GREAT ARTIST.
"IF I COULD MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE", I would go "ALL THE WAY" back and just "LOOK AROUND" and "SAY YES". "TO THE OTHER MAN", "I KNOW A MAN WHO" is "GONNA MAKE IT ALRIGHT".
You see, "THERE IS NO NEED OF CRYING", because the Lord is always supplying. If we abide, he will provide, every time a "REASON TO SURVIVE." "I'M A LIVING WITNESS" and truly believe that if we would just "HOLD ON", "SMILE" and "CEASE FIRE" we can stop the hatred and began to heal the "HEARTACHES".
Now the time has come, we have "GOT TO BE READY" and must remain forever steady. Men of every kind, these are the signs, so let's strive to having once again that desired "PEACE OF MIND".
On the strength of our daily prayer: Dear Lord, "THE SWEETEST NAME", "YOU'RE MY EVERYTHING", "MIRACLE WORKER" and "PREACHER MAN". "YOU'RE THE JOY IN MY SOUL", "I BELONG TO YOU", "STAY WITH ME" because "I GIVE MY ALL TO YOU".
Again Lord, "DO YOUR WILL", and "GOD BLESS AMERICA".......
"AND THAT WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME".......
TWO THUMBS UP!!.......2004-08-11

F + just for this
the discs are not even CLOSED CAPTIONED!!!
Jimi is one of the best all time guitarist, and very rare for him to sit and talk. and add to this is was stoned all the time, tho not sure on this show, but its hard to understand him even IF you have perfect hearing. doesnt move his lips per normal and talks sorta fast at times. this is the 21st century, No CC, fail.
More important culturally than musically........2006-03-21
Being a rock icon in the 60s or 70s was very different from what it is today. Here is Jimi, smart, funny, humble and articulate. More inspiration in his little finger than a truckload of angry rappers.
Even his playing came from a different place than today's super guitarists. Nowadays, to play in Jimi's league means spectacular technique--as if someone is giving a test. But Jimi's ability was intrinsic; all he had to do was play what he heard and felt. And what he heard and felt was as cool as it gets.
Don't Bother Buying this DVD.......2006-01-26
I purchased Dick Cavett's John Lennon and Yoko Ono interview and it was great. It was about an hour and a half of interview and performance material. I gained new insight about John and Yoko. So I bought Cavett's interview of Jimi Hendrix expecting something similar. The 15 minutes of glib questions by Cavett produced nothing new about Hendrix. Included in the DVD are a few minutes of Jimi playing at Woodstock. The rest of the DVD is mediocre at best.
Borrow this from a friend.......2006-01-08
If you add up all of the interview footage of Hendrix, there's not much here. Dick Cavett did not interview Hendrix, he just made comments about how he liked his shirt and and threw in a few funny remarks. The Cavett people had to release this for it's historic value to Rock music, but Mr. Cavett and crew must regret not having more in depth content to offer us 35 years later.
Cavet did not convey to the viewers the importance of the times. There were no in depth questions at all about Woodstock which is hindsight is almost criminal, given that the story lead the evening news with Walter Cronkite. When Hendrix mentions that he he has had three nervous breakdowns, Cavett fails to make a folow up question. The most amazing part of the DVD is when Cavett breaks for a commercial, and Hendrix has left the studio. Cavett explains to his audience that Jimmi is too tired to complete the interview.
The conclusion of the DVD offers a series of present day interviews from Cavvet, to Jimmi's original drummer and Bass guitar player. All of these interviews are interupted every 30 seconds by replays of the interview we just watched.
Borrow this from a friend, or rent it. Don't buy it. This DVD has thirty minutes of content in it, including the music performed by Jimmi on the show.
Very surprising.......2005-09-05
Think all rock stars are full of themselves, media slick and savvy, arrogant, self-promoting, know-it-alls? Think again. Jimi Hendrix comes across in these interviews as a humble and gentle man, a surprisingly sweet person in the rough and tumble, hedonistic world of rock music. I was expecting the stereotypical, obnoxious rock star. Hendrix has the softspoken, peaceful demeanor of an earnest divinity student or shy artist. He is non-materialistic and quietly laments that there is way too much money in the music world. When Cavett tells Hendrix that he is one of the greatest guitarists in the world, Hendrix appears embarassed and sincerely qualifies that statement and seems to mean it. The great Jimi Hendrix exemplifying the virtues of modesty and humility? It is so unexpected. Would that today's rap thugs, pop tart bimbos, and spoilt rock acts learned a few things from him. He admits to making mistakes when he plays guitar. He is visibly exhausted in one interview and does his gentlemanly best to be gracious while anyone else would have cancelled the interview or been impatient. Where did all of that guitar genius come from? How could such a gentle and sensitive man be such a powerhouse of rock music? To listen to his music, one would expect someone very different. When Hendrix picks up his guitar and plays unaccompanied with a small amp on Cavett's show, he becomes a man transfixed. Clearly, playing guitar and singing was this man's spiritual and emotional outlet. Very interesting dvd.

Third Day Worship...an awesome DVD!.......2005-12-02
Highly recommended for any devoted fans of Third Day. I loved this dvd. It really brings home the sense of "worship" in a real way. It's not as emotionally intense as attending a live Third Day show, but it's great as it's available 24/7. If you purchase this dvd you won't be disappointed.
Worship at its best!.......2005-07-14
Wow, what can I say about this DVD! Makes me want to be there live. But Third Day is probably the best rock band out there, even if they are a Christian band. They been playing together for a while and they can still rock for all you Gomers. This particular DVD has all the classic worship songs from the earlier albums.
Mac Powell has a unique voice, a very distinct tone that could be recognized. Brad Avery is the BEST guitarist/distortionist ever and his skills blow me away. Mark Lee is also a talented and great guitar player also. Tai Anderson is phenomenal on the bass, I being a bass player, try to play his style. And Dave Carr is the drummer and the way he plays is very powerful. Overall great DVD, great songs, and a great band, go and get all their DVDs, like this one, "Come Together", and "Live Wire".
An excellent worship experience........2004-07-13
I've enjoyed Third Day's music since 1997, when I first bought "Conspiracy No. 5," but it was the first "Offerings" album that made me a fan for life. The mix of studio tracks and live recordings on both "Offerings" & "Offerings II: All I Have To Give" made the experience of worshipping God through song come alive like never before. And now that experience has been captured on film for this DVD. Some of the musical highlights include "I've Always Loved You," "King of Glory," "Thief," "My Hope is You," "Agnus Dei" and, of course, "Your Love Oh Lord." The documentary segments are interesting and, at times, hilarious. My only disappointment is that a couple of songs which I would have loved to have seen included weren't, such as the tear jerker ballad "Love Song." And I really would have loved to have seen a live performance of their cover of Bob Dylan's "Saved" (one of my favorite tracks from the first "Offerings" CD). Altogether, "The Offerings Experience" is a great representation of 3D's live show--especially the worship experience.
High energy.......2003-10-21
The concert displayed a high energy level with good musicianship. The vocals were difficult to understand, however, if you are familiar with Third Day that may not be too distracting. While this displays some of the spiritual delights you will encounter at a Third Day concert, if you really want to experience the music I would suggest their studio albums.....
WOW!.......2003-09-10
What can I say about ThirdDay. I have watched this DVD atleast 100 times. A great DVD with some great concert footage
