Great Workout for busy moms.......2007-09-13
I love this workout d.v.d. Each workout is 10 to 15 minutes long so you can customize it to fit your time schedule. You can also put the sections in which ever order you want. I love it!
Great workout.......2007-08-23
I had the first, Biggest Loser Workout, and thought I would try this one. It's even better than the first. It has a large selection of ways to workout. I really liked the flexible add-on workout, and then you do both cardio together, kicks butt.
Disappointed .......2007-08-23
I purchased Vol. 2 with great anticipation because Vol. 1 was fantastic. Well, there was not much to be excited about. To my disappointment the workouts were not as fun to do. I did like that Vol. 2 had workouts that were only 10 minutes for the days that you didn't have much time, and they are hard workouts! But none the less, Vol. 2 was a disappointment I'm afraid to say.
Ok.......2007-08-09
If you loved the biggest loser 1 workout, then I believe that you are going to be disappointed. This workout has a lot of new things in it, but most of the workouts you can not do in your house unless you have a vaulted ceiling. It has some balance ball workouts that you need to raise the ball over your head. My ceiling was not high enough. So I missed out on a few workouts. And unless you are doing the more intense workouts, you do not get to work out with Bob, who I believe is the more inspirational trainer than Kim.
Not enough Bob!.......2007-07-28
It's a decent workout, but not enough Bob! Too many props needed too, but I just improvised on that one. I liked 1 better because I find Bob really motivating and upbeat as a personal trainer.
You do get a good work out, but it just doesn't seem as fun as the first one.

Jennifer Garner's lips grow more Angelina-esque every year. In the romantic comedy Catch and Release, Garner (Alias, 13 Going On 30) plays Gray Wheeler, a young woman whose fiance dies unexpectedly before the wedding, leaving Gray unable to afford her home--so she moves in with her fiance's best friends, Sam (Kevin Smith, director of Clerks and Dogma) and Dennis (Sam Jaeger, Lucky Number Slevin). But the presence of another old friend named Fritz (Timothy Olyphant, Deadwood) leads to the unveiling of a secret: Gray's fiance had a child with another woman. Catch and Release lacks the clear story structure that most romantic comedies are built on, but trades it for a richer sense of the ambiguities of human relationships. Garner, though lovely and personable, is a bit bland--fortunately, she's surrounded by actors with all kinds of edges, including Smith (who shows an unexpected and uncloying earnest side), Fiona Shaw (from the Harry Potter movies) as the fiance's grieving mother, and Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear), who demonstrates once again her powers as a fearless and surprising actress. Catch and Release is an uneven movie, with a remarkably elegant visual style that sometimes clashes with the workmanlike dialogue, but it can't be written off as the same old Hollywood claptrap. Though a happy ending is inevitable, the path it takes has some surprising turns and flashes of unexpected emotional depth.-- Bret Fetzer

Okay, but not wonderful..................2007-09-17
I love Jennifer Garner, she is a great actress, and I thought this film would just be a nice sweet romantic comedy with the perfect touch of drama. It was that, but it just wasn't gripping and didnt seem to go below any surface of the film. I thought the relationship that developed between Jennifer's character and the guy she becomes involved with would have developed or been portrayed differently. Maybe the soundtrack could have been different as well, music helps bring a film together, and sadly, this one just didn't seem to flow. It was kind of predictable, but just missed something, I can't explain it, just that something that is like a nice cup of hot chocolate with just the right amt of marshmallows on a cold winters night.
I'd suggest renting it first, before you make a decision to buy.
I liked it.......2007-09-17
The premise of this movie seems quite depressing but Jennifer Garner lightens it up with her beautiful smile and comededic acting. She meshes well with her male costars and she fits great into the "one of the guys" role. I always liked her in a romantic comedy aspect liken to "13 going on 30" so this was right up my alley. Well worth renting
Did they have to put Kevin Smith in it?.......2007-09-02
He adds nothing to the movie except his sick jokes and terrible non existent acting. And Jennifer regretfully plays an airhead role, she is starting to turn into an Angelina Joile, and we don't want anymore trash in Hollywood, try Washington DC.
Entirely forgettable -- should have been a Lifetime movie.......2007-09-02
"Catch & Release," starring Jennifer Garner, was an entirely forgettable film, much better done for TV as a Lifetime movie.
What happens when you find out the person you were set to marry turns out to be entirely a different person, with an unsavory past life? And then dies on the day before the wedding? And you live in a shared craftsman bungalow in Boulder with his two other best friends? And they all know he had a kid but never bothered to tell you? And then the flakey blonde woman and son show up in Boulder? And you have some treacly-sweet bonding moments with all the guys and the ditz? And your fiance had a lot more money than you were aware of? And his mom want the family heirloom engagement ring back? And the DNA proves the boy is not really his son? And you unwittingly fall in love with his LA-ish best friend? And because of an overheard misunderstanding he returns to LA in a snit? And one of the roommates falls in love with the blonde flake and her son? And then you decide to go to LA to reunite with the best friend? And you find him on the beach, playing catch with his dog? And you lock lips and he asks what took you so long?
Do you need to watch this movie to find out? I don't think so.
Good background noise for a nap..........2007-08-29
I don't even know where to begin. This movie starts slow...and just gets slower. There's very little character development, despite that being the one of the main (implied) themes of the movie. The acting isn't great and the script was lousy. Since I'm one of those people who always tries to find something nice to say, I'll mention that I loved the house. The layout was open and beautiful but it didn't really fit the mood of the movie. Garner's "trapped-in-my-mind/trapped-in-the-situation" attitude with the situations in the movie really didn't fit with the home she was staying in.
There needed to be more action (vs. boring dialouge) in this movie. There are too many twists and turns and only a vague storyline. If you absolutely ~have~ to see this movie, borrow it, rent it, but whatever you do, ~*~don't~*~ buy it. You'll only be able to stomach the monotony once (if you're lucky).
Amazon.com essential video
The legendary story that hovers over Orson Welles's The Stranger is that he wanted Agnes Moorehead to star as the dogged Nazi hunter who trails a war criminal to a sleepy New England town. The part went to E.G. Robinson, who is marvelous, but it points out how many compromises Welles made on the film in an attempt to show Hollywood he could make a film on time, on budget, and on their own terms. He accomplished all three, turning out a stylish if unambitious film noir thriller, his only Hollywood film to turn a profit on its original release. Welles stars as unreformed fascist Franz Kindler, hiding as a schoolteacher in a New England prep school for boys and newly married to the headmaster's lovely if naive daughter (Loretta Young). Welles the director is in fine form for the opening sequences, casting a moody tension as agents shadow a twitchy low-level Nazi official skulking through South American ports and building up to dramatic crescendo as Kindler murders this little man, the lovely woods becoming a maelstrom of swirling leaves that expose the body he furiously tries to bury. The rest of film is a well-designed but conventional cat-and-mouse game featuring an eye-rolling performance by Welles and a thrilling conclusion played out in the dark clock tower that looms over the little village. --Sean Axmaker

Better than usually given credit for...........2007-09-05
While no means comparable to Welles' masterpieces "Citizen Kane" or "The Trial," "The Stranger" shines not because it offers anything spectacular as far as the cinema is concerned. Where it does succeed, despite itc conventional storyline is in characterization in the leads. Robinson is superb as the uncompromising Nazi-hunter bent on finding and bringing ex-Nazi Franz Kindler to justice for war crimes; Loretta Young as Kindler's pretty but naive wife is a bit trite but because of the strong performances by Robinson and Welles can be overlooked.
Welles himself, is convincing as ever as the ex-Nazi masquerading as Mr. Rankin, the favorite teacher at boys' prep school giddy at the irony that he will be married to Supreme Court Justice Longstreet's (Young) daughter. Even Richard Long, before he would become familiar to television audiences as Jarod Barkley of "The Big Valley," delivers a notable performance as Noah Longstreet, brother to Young, who is the first to really suspect the man his sister married is not who he claims to be.
It all works here and manages to entertain throughout. I love how Welles uses the theme of time and linked Kindler and Robinson's character together through their passion for clocks and their methodical attention to detail---Robinson with his notepad trying to establish a timeline for Rankin/Kindler's murder of a fellow Nazi co-patriot in the shadowy woods not far from the town. Welles, uses light and shadow quite liberally here and to great effect establishing an unmistakable atmosphere of menace and evil. We, the audience, quickly identify with Young's and Robinson's character--we want Rankin/Kindler caught--especially after what he does to Red--Noah's dog for attempting to uncover Kindler's murder.
For those who admire Welles' work will enjoy this film; if you are an Eddie G fan--you will love it and recognize some of the gifts this actor has to offer. Other than a storyline that engages the viewer, Welles' conclusion, although somewhat melodramatic and expected, manages to keep the viewer's riveted to the screen throughout the duration of the film.
Great Movie.......2007-08-08
I have waited many years to get a DVD copy of this after many viewings from my worn out vhs copy. This is great teaming between Welles and Robinson. The subject is good too. Viewers may also like Hitchcock's Notorius.
AT LAST.......2007-07-30
This is one of my favourite film noirs, a great movie in which Welles showed the world he could do a classic Hollywood movie without going over the budget an still produce a genuine and personal masterpiece. I own two more previously released transfers of this public domain film, none of which did justice to the movie. They look like worn out VHS tapes. They are that bad. Finally, though without any extras and at a relatively high price, MGM has released what seems to be a transfer from a very good original 35 mm print, if not the original negative. The picture looks very clean and sharp, with deep blacks, and at last I can enjoy the film as Welles intended. Buy it.
Although without extras this is the version of "The Stranger" to get for Welles fans.......2007-07-15
**Please note: This review is for the MGM/Film Noir Series release of "The Stranger" NOT any of the public domain releases**
"The Stranger" proves that Orson Welles could deliver a film on time and within budget. "The Stranger" almost seems like an answer to Hitchcock's "Shadow of a Doubt" in that it tackles many of the same themes from a different perspective. While Hitchcock's film "The Stranger" creates a complex villian in Franz Kindler/Charles Rankin. The MGM version is the one to get since it goes back to the RKO Vault (RKO which is a bit of irony considering that Welles made "Citizen Kane" for the studio and had his film "The Magnificent Ambersons" butchered by the studio while he was in South America partying and working on "It's All True"). Welles' original version can 115 minutes while the final version was recut by producers Sam Spiegel (the producer of "Lawrence of Arabia" working under the name S. E. Eagel) and Bill Goetz (who helped finace the project). If any of the footage cut still exists it is probably lost which is a pity as according to comments/notes that Welles made over the years the film had a much longer prologue.
MGM delivers one of the better looking versions on DVD that I've seen. There are public domain DVD that are floating around but most of them I've seen have been from inferior 16mm or faded prints that don't do the moody cinematography justice. We do get alternate language tracks in French and Spanish for the film but no commentary track which is disappointing given that this is a Welles film. I'm sure that Simon Callow (who wrote the two excellent Welles biographies ORSON WELLES: THE ROAD TO XANADU and ORSON WELLES: HELLO AMERICANS) could have provided an excellent commentary based on his observations on the film in his second volume of his Welles' biographies. We don't even get a vintage trailer for the film. A featurette on the film's production (it was one of Welles' most profitable films which is important in and of itself), changes that Spiegel made to the film and Welles' own comments which have been videotaped/recorded over the years would have been valuable. Regardless, this is a fine film which finally looks excellent (with some minor flaws due to age and damage)that should have been treated better by MGM.
**SPOILER ALERT**
Welles plays Charles Rankin a man with a mysterious past . He's a history professor teaching and living in a small town marrying the daughter of a Supreme Court Justice Mary (Loretta Young). Just before the wedding Rankin's past comes calling with a visit by a man named Meinike (Konstantin Shayne). A former Nazi, Meinike has been released by a government agent named Wilson(Edward G. Robinson) in a game of cat and mouse. Wilson hopes that Meinike will lead him to an Franz Kindler a Nazi at large. He does just that but before Wilson can act Rankin murders Meinike to close off his past. Suddenly Rankin's carefully cultivated identity (and Mary's world)becomes unraveled as Wilson doggedly closes in on him.
**END OF SPOILER ALERT**
Welles had a troubled history for all of his films which often meant that the films were compromised. Nevertheless, "The Stranger" plays as a strong suspense thriller although the often shrill and over-the-top music score doesn't quite work for the film. This is another example where Bernard Herrmann would have added signficantly to the film if he had been hired to do the score. Film noir fans will enjoy this flawed Welles classic which has a number of dazzling set pieces particularly the stunning and unique conclusion at the clock tower.
While this edition which is part of MGM's "Film Noir" series lacks any special features(the film could have used a commentary track from any one of Welles' fine biographers particularly Simon Callow), the film looks pretty good overall. It hasn't been restored and has some minor print damage but overall looks quite nice. 4 stars for the presentation 0 stars for the extras. Perhaps MGM will reconsider their decision to release this without extras when Warner releases "The Magnificient Ambersons" on DVD late this year (2007) or early next (2008--depends upon how quickly they can assemble the material now that they've found a good source print).
Although a bare bones release, this is definitely the version to get for film fans. It's a pity though that MGM decided to treat the film with so little care given that it is a Welles film with a strong cast. Other Welles films worth getting:
Citizen Kane
Touch of Evil (Restored to Orson Welles' Vision)The Lady from Shanghai
Discovering Orson WellesThis is Orson Welles
Skip The Public Domain Versions: Get The MGM Disc!!!.......2007-07-13
Orson Welles' THE STRANGER(1946) has finally seen an official release from original vault elements. Is is perfect? No, there are a few negative blemishes here and there. Is it better than any public domain version on the market? YES! If you're a fan of this film, the MGM version is the one to have. Only carp: The price is a bit steep, especially given that there are NO extras whatsoever.

a really good intermediate yoga workout.......2007-08-07
I enjoy doing this yoga tremendously. It's perfect for days when I want a real workout but one that's gentle at the same time. Alan Finger does a wonderful job of integrating the spiritual side of yoga, which often gets left behind in many teachers presentations. His corpse pose is one of the best I've ever done.
Impressed Again by Yoga Zone.......2007-03-27
I purchased several other Yoga Zone DVDs before disccovering those with Alan Finger conducting the practice, and found them excellent. Alan Finger's sessions, which include meditation, did not disappoint. Beginners and experienced practitioners alike will find Alan's instruction easy to follow and extremely informative. One of the "hazards" of gaining experience is the tendency to get sloppy in poses. It never hurts to be reminded -- esp of alignment or proper breathing technique. At 60 minutes, this practice is just the right length, and again (as in my Power Yoga review) reflects what you would experience in a yoga studio class. I loved the Chakra meditation -- found it very soothing and inspiring to imagine the different energy centers of the body being energized while I "let go" in Corpse Pose. Alan also includes a bit of OM chanting at the end, something not inlcuded on the other Yoga Zone DVDs I've tried. Admittedly, this type of meditation may not be for everyone. But after practicing for about a year, I've noticed that I'm the most "in the zone" after a practice that incorporates all of these elements. Try it yourself and see what you think!
Enjoyed this DVD.......2007-03-20
I really enjoyed this DVD; I liked the teacher's voice and yoga directions as well as comments on the effects of yoga on the body and health. Especially liked the ending savasana/meditation sequence.
I was pleasantly surprised.......2007-02-13
I have never owned a yoga tape in the past. I mainly do total body weight training and cardio on alternating days. I got this tape through a trade mostly because everyone says you "should" do yoga. I have done yoga-type classes before at the gym, but not on a regular basis.
When I first got this tape about a month ago, I previewed it and was not overly impressed with Alan Finger. I thought he talked a little too much and didn't like the that he wasn't actually doing most of the exercises on the tape. So I put it away and didn't use it.
I finally pulled it out last night. I didn't have a lot of energy for cycling, but I didn't want to do nothing, so I decided to do this one albeit begrudgingly. Boy, what an attitude adjustment I had. The poses were relaxing but very thorough. I have a long ways to go in terms of flexibility, but I can see how using this tape regularly would really be beneficial. I absolutely LOVED the ending. I was totally spaced out. I remember feeling thoroughly relaxed after certain yoga classes at the gym, but this was great...totally zoning out in the privacy of your own home without a care in the world. Next time I will shut off the lights before this relaxing ending.
This one is a keeper for sure and I may even do it once per week from now on!
Flexibility and Stress Relief Yoga DVD Review.......2006-11-08
I have used this yoga workout for years and find it one of the best. Alan Finger does a great job of explaining and encouraging along the way. It designed for strength building as well as flexibility and stress relief. You work up a sweat as well as letting go of tension. When I use it at night it puts me right to sleep.

Not a very good film but great starring cast.......2007-07-09
Unfortunately, this is not the best vehicle to see the best talents of Tyrone Power, Ava Gardner and Errol Flynn. The story line revolves around the "Lost Generation" of young people during the post World War One era. In their middle forties at the time of filming, Tyrone Power and Errol Flynn are clearly too old for their parts. However, it's great to see both of these former matinee idols together on film; albeit just shortly before each of them died.
Also, it loses something being viewed on a television set. I'm sure it was quite spectacular in CinemaScope in the theatre, especially the bullfighting scenes. I would recommend this film if you are a fan of the stars or a fan of bullfighting but not if you are a fan of Ernest Hemingway.
Watch This Movie & Find The Meaninglessness of Your Life .......2007-07-06
Many reviews of this film like to take issue with its meandering, aimless plot that starts anywhere and leads nowhere. The bad news is that criticism is spot on. The good news is that's the point exactly. You see, Hemingway is trying to show what happens to the first generation that loses its faith in reason, science, and progress. Instead of perfecting society, humanity, and the world, these ideals have only led to more effective, more efficient ways of killing our neighbors on a global scale. How to live when there is nothing left to believe in? Watch this film and find out! Ask yourself, are these characters so different from you and me? Tyrone Power is impotent. So are we. Wealth, fame, power -- our worldly pleasures are insatiable. Errol Flynn is a hopeless drunk. Our pleasures are also unfulfilling. Ava Gardner is an aging beauty. Even when a few of us manage to attain our worldly desires, they are fleeting, we just can't hold on to them. This film is more relevant today than it ever was. If you hit yourself on the head with a book, and you hear a hollow sound, it doesn't always mean the book is empty.
Bulls of Pamplona vs. Errol Flynn.......2007-06-25
Need I say more? Don't miss Flynn and Eddie Albert actually running through the streets and into the bull ring with the dudes of "Pamplona" (filmed in Mexico) Two guys get gored! Ava G. is as sensual as ever, whether in a Parisian bistro or flirting with a matador. Location is a huge part of the novel, and this movie gets is right.
The movie falls far short of the reckless desperation of the novel, and Tyronne P. is a soul-less Jake, but that would be a tough role for anyone to play.
Kids stay away from this picture.......2007-04-23
THE SUN ALSO RISES is a handsomely produced, but ultimately pointless film. It serves as yet another example of how Hemingway's work rarely translates onto the silver screen. Tyrone Power, Ava Gardner (beginning to look bloated from excessive drinking), Errol Flynn (the poster child of bloatedness from excessive drinking), and Eddie Albert (bloated, but not from alcohol) play a bunch of literate types who lounge about various western European locales drinking (not much of a stretch for Gardner and Flynn here) and moping and whining. Each male character increases his drinking, moping, and whining when left by Gardner for another male rival. This more or less describes what drags on over the course of 2+ hours. The real stars here are the European scenery and Cinemascope, which captures and conveys the grandeur and glory of the film's setting. Other than that, the only other value of the movie is the vivid illustration it provides of why Robert Evans' acting career was so short lived. His open-mouthed, blank stares while waiting for the bull charges almost inadvertently redeem this bland flick. To some extent, watching THE SUN ALSO RISES might be a case of life imitating art, since it will likely inspire its audience to drink, mope, and whine after enduring its pointlessness.
Not Great Hemingway, but a Memorable Misfire!.......2007-03-30
"The Sun Also Rises" was 20th Century Fox's big-budget 'prestige' film
for 1957, based on Ernest Hemingway's first novel, shot on location in Paris and Mexico (substituting for Spain), and starring the studio's long-reigning superstar, Tyrone Power, surrounded by legendary actors (Ava Gardner, Errol Flynn, Mel Ferrer, and Eddie Albert). With all the talent assembled in front of and behind the camera, producer Darryl F. Zanuck felt confident that the film would be an enduring classic for both his own independent company, and his studio.
It wasn't, unfortunately...
The film's problem was a fundamental one; the 'Lost Generation'
Hemingway wrote of were disillusioned young Americans, who, shattered
by the horror and brutality of the 'Great War', lost their innocence, and became a 'live fast, die young' crowd of expatriates, settling in Paris. These were men and women still in their twenties and thirties...yet the film's stars were all ten to twenty years older! The most glaring case can be seen in the film's star, Tyrone Power. As newspaperman Jake Barnes, a vet whose war injuries render him impotent, unable to satisfy the woman he loves (Ava Gardner), and, therefore, the 'perfect' observer of her romantic entanglements with other men, Power seems more a victim of a midlife crisis than a young man devastated about losing his manhood. In his next-to-last film, Power, at 44, was aging badly, his hair thinning and his slender, 'movie idol' good looks surrendering to a middle-aged paunch. Only when he smiles do the years seem to lift, a bit, and the "too handsome to be true" younger man appears. Adding to his physical deterioration was an undiagnosed heart condition, which would kill him, in less than two years.
His co-star, Ava Gardner, at 35, was going through a decline, as well, but, like her character, Lady Brett Ashley, her vices were the cause of her self-destruction. Both Brett and Ava were hedonistic women too fond of booze, bullfighters, and nightlife, and Ava's once-classic features were beginning to develop bags and wrinkles that makeup and lighting couldn't hide.
Coming off best are Errol Flynn and Eddie Albert. Flynn, at 48, long past his 'glamorous' prime (he and Power had been Hollywood's best-looking 'swashbucklers' of the early 40s), had become a very credible character actor, usually portraying variations of himself. His 'Mike Campbell', an alcoholic, impoverished but clinging to his pride, was, sadly, a dead-on assessment of Errol Flynn, as well. Like Power, he would be dead in two years, a victim of his own excesses. On the other hand, Eddie Albert, at 49, had long been health-conscious, and his performance as a drunk was simply good acting; paired with Flynn, they 'steal' the film, particularly during the famous Pamplona bull run, when the duo flee for their lives (while guzzling wine), and Flynn attempts to use a bad check as a cape to 'fight' a bull!
The drama seems overdrawn, the romance lacks 'fire', Robert Evans as a young bullfighter is dreadful, and the resolution is a hollow one. Even with the gorgeous scenery, Hugo Friedhofer's soaring film score, and Henry King's skill as a director, the film fails to generate more than a curiosity value, at the sight of so many actors, past their prime, trying to seem youthful and dynamic.
The DVD offers many 'added features', including 'behind the scenes' photos of Power, Flynn, and Gardner, and director Henry King's audio reminiscences of the production, possibly more entertaining than the feature, itself.
All-in-all, an ambitious misfire!
Description
Mischief, mayhem, and the perfect soundtrack for disaster. This movie is filled with the footage that was deemed unfit for Fall Out Boy's "My Heart Will Always Be The B-Side To My Tongue" and goes way beyond the original DVD to give you a closer look at the band's inner circle. Includes footage on everything from the early years to backstage antics, reckless stunts, and live footage of "Armor For Sleep", "Gym Class Heroes", and many more. Also contains clips from Fall Out Boy in Japan, their summer tour, and the near riot during their Detroit performance last year.

AWESOME!!!.......2007-05-09
Ok, lets me get this clear to you. I ordered this DVD a little hesitant whether i would like it or not. All of the reviews definitely helped me(u should read them before you buy, they are helpful). Well its just plain and simple, it's great, awesome all the other words that mean the same as those. If vyou are a Fall Out Boy or/aswell a fan of Pete Wentz i highly recommend this DVD to you. Yeah, so what, its a little gross-and as said in other reviews that it's like jackass with Pete Wentz and FOB and a few other people. But it's funny as, i was laughing soooo hard. And another thing- yeah if you hear Pete talking about Dirty or Hey Chris online, you finally find out who they are. It's great. Also cause you see live footage of them, Armor for Sleep, Gym Class heroes and more. Also if you are fan of Patrick, then go to the deleted scenes and see him acting like a panda. Frikkin cute. One of my favourites are Bedussey(you should watCH that its A crack up) OMG, i'm so sorry, long review. Anyhow basically my advice to you is to buy it and waTCH it, you'll love it. Come on its like 19.50 US altogether. Oh by the way, I live in NZ right, and it only took like 10 days to get on international standard shipping. Very trustworthy. Sorry, please say if you foud the review helpful. :)
Clandestine Industries Presents: Release the Bats.......2007-03-08
What a great DVD. Reccomended for any FOB fan!!!!! 100 out of 10. Absolute genius work!!!!
wow... that was pretty gross..........2007-01-25
Wow... right this was really funny, but totally discusting... I laughed so hard it was bad... I do not recomend this for those who are easily grossed out, I still can not believe they did some of the stuff that they did.. I think it was worth buying, but again if you get easily grossed out, you do not want to watch this...
Release The Bats .......2007-01-08
Great video but only if you really love Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy. Although ... its like a car crash - hard not to look but there are parts of it you will wish you never saw. Its nothing to be taken seriously and don't look for refined entertainment. This video is of a bunch of badly behaved boys with too much time and money on their hands. It is funny as hell and I'm glad I bought it.
AWESOME.......2006-07-24
this dvd is seriously awesome. Its so funny. I definatly recomend it for people who have sick minds. It did have a lot of crazy and disgusting things done by pete and his friends, dirty, hey cris and more. It does have some nudity, but its all butts.
I do recomend it for people age 14 and up, cuz some of the stuff is kinda nasty.
loved it!

Some people take up yoga to build strength and flexibility; others are primarily looking to reduce stress and tension. This 55-minute program, while purporting to address both groups, is actually much more appropriate for the latter. Yoga Zone founder Alan Finger does an excellent job not merely emphasizing the importance of the breath--the single most vital element of any yoga practice--but also explaining yoga breathing techniques, followed by a series of easy stretches (for the neck, shoulders, arms, and such) and a variety of standing, sitting, and lying poses beneficial to yogis of all levels. The pace is gentle, the sequence of poses logical, the instruction clear and constant; beginners will be challenged but not intimidated, while more advanced types might find it a welcome alternative to sweaty, aerobic yoga workouts. --Sam Graham

Healing Yoga Workout.......2007-09-02
Alan Finger's calming instruction style allows you to relax into each pose as you release tension and heal the body. Two yoga instructors show the exercises while Alan Finger guides you through each movement with a sense of precision. Deceptively easy stretches become a challenge when held for extended periods of time. Throughout the routine the body is calmed by breathing deeply.
You may recognize table, cat, cow, downward dog and mountain pose. If you are intermediate you may want to do this routine to increase your patience. Beginners will be happy with the slower pacing and lack of difficult postures.

Finally a yoga tape with a yogi teacher.......2007-08-06
I have purchased several yoga tapes in my journey to find an at home guided yoga workout as good as ones in a yoga studio. Aside from the relatively minor fact that the camera person is clearly a male (due to the inordinate amount of time focused on unnecessary close-ups of the two lovely instructor's figures) this tape really does give some innovative and very helpful stretching sequences. Alan has the all-important yoga, tension releasing focus and commentary that helps to really you to release tension and let the day melt away. The other thing I really appreciate about this tape is the pacing. MANY of the yoga videos out there simply don't provide enough time in a posture to really release into it fully. This one doesn't make you feel rushed. I also loved the fact that at the end he doesn't make you get up, but you can stay in a relaxed corspe pose as long as you would like once the tape is finished. This tape focuses mostly on flexibility but there are a few mintues of good strengthing poses. Yoga is a very important balance to our society which focuses on strength and cardio with out tying the body's performance to the breath. Alan does a great job of drawing your focus back to the breath. It is a great substitute for being able to actually go to a yoga class. You will be refreshed by the workout.
Relaxing full-body stretch for beginning yogis.......2007-03-22
I've been interested in trying this Yoga Zone practice for some time now. Even though I'm no longer a yoga beginner (I consider myself a solid intermediate), I had heard that this program was very relaxing, particularly for the neck, and I am always looking for yoga practices along these lines. I have tried many of the Yoga Zone videos, but this was only my second full-length (almost an hour) practice with Yoga Zone founder Alan Finger. The first thing I noticed about this program is that is it performed in an indoor studio; since every other YZ video I've every tried was outdoors, this was a bit disappointing but not a major factor. The entire practice moves at a slow, relaxing pace, with long holds of the postures allowing you to really feel the release associated with each move.
Alan and his two students, Lisa and Michelle (who displays less flexible modifications) begin in a seated position with basic breathing exercises and continue with simple warm-ups, including a cross-legged seated forward bend and forward bend with a twist. Next comes the neck release series, which involves a slow turn from side-to-side, a partial turn using the opposite hand as a weight on the top of the head, and a chin push. A few additional moves for the shoulders follow, namely a shoulder roll and an arm pull across the chest. Staff pose rounds out this initial seated series, which lasts about 15 minutes. Alan then transitions you to a lying position for reclined bound angle, bridge, and double-leg back release. Moving to hands and knees, you'll do a cat series plus some really nice wrist stretches. The only down dog of the practice follows, and then a standing forward bend prepares you for the short standing series to come. The standing postures include tadasana, side bend, standing back bend, forward bend, side angle pose, and a wide angle forward bend series. You are now 35 minutes into the practice, and Alan moves back to the floor for 12 point, table, seated forward bend, thread the needle, leg extensions/lowers, single leg back release, revolved stomach pose, and finally, savasana. As with the other longer YZ I've tried (Flexibility & Stress Release), Alan leads you through a lengthy (10 minutes) savasana that is extremely relaxing--there is something about his voice that nearly puts me to sleep every time! The total practice time is approximately 58 minutes, but the soothing music continues into credits, so you could easily relax into savasana for a bit longer.
Although I liked this practice and did find it very relaxing, I also felt that it was a little below my current level. At this point, I have other relaxing yoga videos which I prefer to this one, particularly Benagh's Yoga for Stress Relief and Yoga in the Garden of Serenity (the latter has amazing neck stretches which go way beyond what is offered here). Still, this is an excellent beginning yoga program, and I think it would also be a good fit for those who usually don't enjoy yoga but are looking for a relaxing, full-body stretch routine.
Must Buy.......2007-03-09
This DVD is someone who wants to start with Yoga. These poses have power to remove stress and make you feel sound. And yeah... Alan's voice is very soothing.
I find myself craving this...........2006-08-31
This was definately a good buy. I bought this because I was having some back problems and thought maybe this would give me some relief. It did that and more. While it can be challenging-the stretching, the directions are every clear, and the result is awesome. I could feel myself loosening up throughout and then the relaxation at the end is the kicker. Afterwards I fell like I just awoke from an awesome nap. And its helped with my back. I would recommend this to anyone.

¡Haga lo!.......2007-05-24
This DVD is fast-paced. The instructors are all business, but the dancing itself still makes the DVD very fun. There is plenty of content, and the menus are easy to use. I'll be very pleased with myself if I can master everything in this beginning DVD. You may be very impressed with all you can learn too, especially if you are like me and haven't really been exposed to salsa before. Gigi and Pedro demonstrate advanced salsa at the end of the DVD; their demo is just flat-out crazy.
This is definately a keeper.......2007-02-22
With this DVD you can learn salsa very easily and fast. With Gigi as a wonderful instructor and three different angles to look at the steps, dancing becomes a piece of cake. Absolutely one to add to your collection, people!
So clear and easy, even my boyfriend can dance now.......2007-02-17
I've been dancing my entire life and salsa for the past six years. Then I got a boyfriend last year and he felt kinda left out when we went to salsa clubs, cause he never did salsa in his life. Now to be honest I'm not much of a teacher, and he doesn't have the money for actual classes, so we had a problem. Then my teacher mentioned something about some dirty guide to salsa, I gotta admit at first I was a little sceptical, but we bought it anyway. And it's fantastic, it's so easy and so much fun and Gigi is so awesome too. Except that my boyfriends wants to meet her now, no way that's happening, he's my dance partner now!
Salsa is awesome!.......2007-02-10
I actually got this dvd from a friend of mine for my birthday. She thought it would be a fun joke. So when I got it at my party we all laughed and said we would all be amzing salsa dancers by the end of the night. A couple of hours later we went through the entire dvd and all of us could do all the steps Gigi taught us that night, from Abajo to El Dos. And the fact that we could still follow the instructions after the 2 bottles of tequilla the eight of us finished that night, proves to me that this is the best Salsa dvd you can find on this planet.
WOAH WAH WEE WAH.....I LIKE!!!!.......2007-02-06

Description
Elaine Petrone knows pain. As a young dancer, she suffered a debilitating injury and was told she'd be lucky to walk without a limp, let alone dance. Her quest to heal herself led her to develop the Elaine Petrone Method. It healed her injury, alleviated her pain, and changed her life. For 30 years, she has been teaching individuals, doctors, and therapists how to do the same.
Unlike exercise programs that are designed to build muscle through repetitive motion and muscle tightening, the Elaine Petrone Method teaches you to "unwork" the excess muscle tension that contributes to chronic low backache, joint pain, arthritis, anxiety, fatigue, stress, and a host of everyday twinges, spasms, and hurts. Revolutionary in its simplicity, this program will show you how to use controlled breathing, two squishy balls, and gentle movements to let your lower back and hips heal themselves. (Coming in January 2007 for pain in the shoulders, neck and head: "The Elaine Petrone Method: Stop the Clock.")
Muscles respond to stress by activating a cycle of pain in your body. Whether your pain comes from injury, improper body alignment, or just the stress of everyday life, get on the ball and get relief!
Customer Reviews:
everything is not for everybody nor every body.......2007-03-13
I too have read some of the other reviews and am quite surprised at the vitriol! Can't people just say that they don't like something or that they did not have success and why? Plain and detailed descriptions of both success and failure can be quite helpful and that is what I come to Amazon reviews for.
I was fortunate enough to have taken classes with Ms Petrone at a New York health club in early 2001. Every single thing she ever said in that class or the tape that I subsequently bought from her, was true and happened to me in my own body, right there in the class and at home. I do understand that there are people who can't do anything unless there is someone there pointing or touching and describing every little thing. Those people could never be satisfied with any tape, DVD or book unless it came with the instructor herself! That's why there is a whole industry built around personal training and it does not mean there is anything wrong with the Petrone Method.
I also have a very early version of the kit. Mine came with a booklet, a VHS and a cassette. If I am not mistaken, the VHS is to show the positions because she does not want you to look at the screen while you should be concentrating on the movement, with your head down.
I also understand that I have had the benefit of personal instruction, so the cassette was a reminder of what I already knew.
I am currently learning Yoga from a Book that came with a DVD and a CD: Peaceful Weight Loss Through Yoga by Brandt Bhanu Passalaccqua. The DVD is meant to show you how the movements are supposed to look and the CD has the same verbal cueing with music so that you are not looking at the screen when you should be looking at the ceiling or the mat. That method does work, but this author's DVD is really a visual representation of the illustrations in the book (which come with instructions that could be confusing if you have never seen the movement performed), and what is on the CD. He does a whole class on the DVD. Perhaps Ms. Petrone's next set could emulate this man's formula.
Ultimately though, it is important to bear in mind that no matter how great something truely is, such as Ms. Petrone's little balls, everything is not for everybody, nor every body. Temperment and learning style are as important as the quality of the product. As a personal trainer, I make lots of money explaing to others how to do things I learned mostly from books. However, I learn best from verbal instructions too.
Method good but DVD #2 needs work........2007-02-28
I would gladly have given a five star rating if it weren't for the second DVD; it is really poor.
I have the orginal balls with the book and had difficulty using them with only still pictures and text as guidance. I ordered the version with the DVDs hoping it would provide adequate follow along instructions. The first DVD descripes the breathing and position method; it was very well put together. The second one is only Elaine's voice and no pictures. Now, that's the time I needed more. Her instructions without pictures allows too much room for error. I had to rely on my book to work with the other parts of the body. This DVD (for the Back, Elbow and Neck) was bad. You can't even concentrate with only a voice going on and on. It became fustrating and I finally turned it off.
The first DVD explains the method along with proper breathing. So the second DVD would really only need good pictures of ball placement for the other various parts of the body. It need not labor on with redundant breathing instructions.
If there is to be a second edition DVD instruction, please incorporate pictures as described above. Elaine's actual method is very beneficial.
Method works, but this DVD is HORRIBLE!.......2007-01-26
I let a friend borrow my original Miracle Ball set, and it was never returned. I found the original set's little 3" square book annoying so I was thrilled to find a DVD/ball set
Before continuing, let me say that this method really does work. However, this DVD is a big disappointment. It demonstrates THREE positions on the ball: legs drawn to your chest, legs drawn up but falling open and legs fully extended. She refers to "sitz" bones and your body's "building blocks"--terms I wouldn't have known except that I once owned the orginal ball set. Also, while your eyes are closed, and you're supposed to be concentrating on breathing, prompts pop up on the screen. How are you supposed to read prompts on the screen while your eyes are closed?!
The rest of the DVD is just filled with Ms. Petrone's chatter. She talks and talks and talks and talks..... blah, blah, blah. The chatter was too distracting to allow me to concentrate on what I was doing.
ELAINE PETRONE! If you read this review, forget the terrible DVDs, and pathetic little 3" books! Try a laminated card deck instead that describes each position.
Again, great method, but this DVD won't take a new user beyond the three positions demonstrated--how are they supposed to know how else the ball set works (unless they buy more ball sets---oh! maybe this rotten DVD IS a good marketing ploy?!).
Anyway, for beginners, I would recommend the orginal set with the annoying 3" book. At least with the book, you can see various other positions to try with the balls.
Expensive.......2007-01-05
Expensive..........................video is short.
Two balls and a short video....I would not buy this NEW
at the same price I paid.
Absolutely fantastic.......2006-07-29
I love love love this little ball.
Honestly, I was reading some of the reviews and was surprised at some peoples disappointments and I have to say that I am amazed by this Method.
This program for me serves as a wonderful mediation and the results are great. I feel taller and I feel slimmer. I breath better too. I know the sell this program at Costco. I didn't realize what I was buying. My friend had introduced me to the balls at a seminar I had to sit at all day. I right away fell in love with them. What a bargain?
I've studied enough Wholistic philosophies on the body and health to recognize that you can't get much from any DVD for that matter. People in general have too much expectation that a single method on tape will get them results. If you tried different dvd programs for health I'm sure you realize that the teachers themselves know its just an introduction. To get true results you must look at if from a mind body and spiritual perspective. I'm glad I bought this dvd. I'm a visual learner. This was dvd was perfectly paced for me. I take my time when I'm learning something as so complicated as allowing my body to correct itself.
Elaine's dvd, even though its only an introduction taught me so much. I was ready for what she was teaching. The idea of letting go is so basic yet we don't do it. I've done different breath work and yoga styles. I got more with in a 10 minute session then I have with other styles of stretching.
I'm not kidding. I've gotten more flexiblity from one session of watching and doing the dvd then anything else I have taken. I've done hatha yoga, bikrahm yoga, I've read stretching books, I've read the "Genius of Flexiblity", I've bought Rodney Yee's stuff and the results with Elaine's method was just fantastic. I'm not saying those techniques don't work they certainly do but to be able to get such quick results without someone there to guide me...and on a dvd for that matter..well...I was so excited. I didn't feel stressed out or scared I would hurt myself. I was able to sit down cross-legged and bend my head forward and have my elbows touch the floor. I couldn't believe it. That was my convincer.
I really just focused on relaxing and letting go. I've read mind body books and you need to have the mind for it. You need to believe and have Patience. It's like cleansing. People who cleanse know that your body has a lot of toxins in it and it took time to put it there. So it's going to take time to get the junk out of you. You need to be ready to be OPEN to what she is saying.
I've studied Neuro Linguistic Programming Hypnosis and other alternative techniques to help alleviate my back pain. I've seen specialist in Chiropractic Neurology. I've done acupuncture. Mind you I'm only 27 and I started get sciatic pain when I was about 11 years old. But I realized even though I let go of the stress I still had to recondition my body to where I needed it to be.
So to have Elaine just say breath let go and let gravity take its course that was applicable was damn revolutionary for me. You need both mind and body for this to work. You can't do one without the other. It's like trying to move your top half of your body without your legs. This is the point she is trying to get out. You need to connect back to yourself. It's all about self discovery. You know your body most. You make the decision that this does work. It works for me.
People get so caught up in wanting to find the right way to fix something. I did. In fact, it stressed me out not knowing. The right way. That stress and that alwasy wanting to "know" is probably what caused my back pain to begin with. Plus poor diet in college. I read books, and tried mediatation. What I needed to do was trust my body had the resources. You have all the resources in you to fix you. I think this is a big point she makes. But I had to mess up a lot to finally appreciate what this method does for me. Elaine is offering you another method/tool to stop thinking! Just for a moment and let nature correct itself.
She may not come from a spiritual stand point but if you combine this method and read stuff on mind body connection I promise you the results will be amazing. Recognize that your thinking affects the body. Read Deepak Chopra's work, watch "What the Bleep!"
This method is a way to undo the stuff. It's a way to relearn and get those neurons fired up like when you were a baby. Think about it, when you watch a baby sleep he breaths from his stomach.
Babies don't know how to worry they don't even have a concept of back pain. They just cry, they FEEL and go back to sleep.
Back pain and other pain I believe is learned behavior. It took years of unconscious decisions (to stress, not eat well, not excercise) to get to this point. Elaine's method for me, has been a blessing. I thought I had to go to some yoga guru and spend years of training before I thought I could get a result. I've seen results in days. I'm a believer that I'm capable of healing my body. Not only that I'm saving money. Again if you have the right mind set and PATIENCE this little dvd is well worth. It's a start. The knowledge itself is priceless. Then all you have to do is go Borders or Barnes and Nobles and then read the book. That's what I do. I just do about 30 minutes - 60 minutes a day and I just focus on my lower and then the next day I focus on my upper. Stop taking your breathing and body for granted. This is so worth the money. Hey and if you are the type of person who likes to have all the information in front of you then go to website and buy the full version. It cost more. But if your like me that just want to try it out this is a great start. I know if you keep an open mind you get a great benefit out of it.

Scary Scary Scary !.......2007-02-23
I agree with the other posts here , this is a superior made for TV what a surprise and to have Carol Kane back is just fantastic !
This idea of a young girl alone in the house the phone is dead and then theres a knock on the door , and the voice behind the door wants to use the phone and then it starts to send chills thus the movie goes into a rollercaster throughout .
Buy it or rent it I promise you you wont be disapointed .
One of the greatest suspense thrillers of all time.......2006-09-24
I use to watch this when I was young and the beginning use to scare the bezeesis outta me. Recently I saw it on ebay, and saw that it's an out of print dvd so i bought it, and watched it which I hadnt in years, i use to watch it alot when I was young, but to me (when i was only a kid) it was scary certain parts of the film then the rest was boring, which this movie is anything but, just not for kids. It's actually scarier now for me because as an adult I can really appreciate how frightening this film is because it's realistic, and realistic movies are the scariest ones. The acting is oscar worthy, Carol Kane is great once again after being the victim in WHEN A STRANGER CALLS. I think this film is brilliant, especially the original idea of the killer/stalker having a talent that he uses to his advantage, being a ventriliguist and having other skills like slipping in and out of a house without being seen, his mind games, his sadistic games that he enjoys so much, the power that he feels over his victim, poor julia, stalked by this maniac and the police just laugh at her. Another thing, this actor who we never really see, has the sexiest voice I've ever heard, which is probably one of the main reasons he got the part, it's his voice that makes it scary but erotic at the same time, when he keeps saying their name, JILL...........JILL. COME ON OUT JULIA. At first he sounded innocent and normal when he tells julia of his car breaking down, and I love the events that followed, the writing on the paper being erased, the note missing, the door unlocked in the back. Everything was planned, although he did intend to kill her because the doctor and wife come home and interuptted his "act" or he knew they were coming home at 11:30pm and wanted to stalk her in the future and finish what he started. He obviously got off on people's suffering. Very good film. We never really find out but you know he killed the kids. Especially when he told the landlord that kids had died and he wanted to find the mother, almost like a confession. Very creepy, suspenseful film. There are no flaws, perfect movie as far as I'm concerned, perfect suspense, and the movie lets you decide and figure everything out.
"It's dark...can't see...no phone...".......2006-07-30
This superior made-for-TV movie opens with high school student Julia (Jill Schoelen) babysitting two children. A knock at the door is the beginning of a night of unspeakable terror and murder. Five years later, Julia is now a college student, still scarred by that night. Someone, it seems, has been breaking into her apartment and trying to scare her. The police think she's making it up, but college crisis counselor Jill (Carol Kane) believes her, and tries to find out who is after her, aided by her friend (Charles Durning). Soon, Jill becomes the stalker's new target.
This movie is going to terrify you; I guarantee it, especially if you were once a teenage girl who babysat alone. I've seen the movie several times over the years, and I still have to mute the sound and close my eyes when the tension is too much. Credit for this thriller's success goes to director Fred Walton who also wrote the script. You feel like you ARE Julia, all alone and scared senseless, and the creepiness never lets up. Schoelen is convincing as the hapless teen and quirky Carol Kane is always fun to watch. The movie delivers genuine thrills and you won't easily forget it. Highly recommended.
A SUPERIOR SEQUEL!!!.......2006-07-18

Creepy & Better Than The Original.......2006-05-04
I liked this sequel better than the original, right off the bat. I will always remember this film for the first 20-25 minutes which really scared me the first time I saw it. It gave me the creeps, and always will if I don't watch it too often.
After that, the movie settles down, and the excitement leaves, but it still keeps you interested, picking back up again at the end with another suspense scene.
This is a "scare" movie - a sequel - that works although there are a few noticeable holes in the storyline. I liked the camera-work in here with the closeups of the door lock or the phone, the slowness of camera movement here and there to build suspense, etc. The ending, in which the killer blends into a wall, is very neat.
The main actors are interesting to watch and a big plus , for those concerned about this, is the lack of profanity, especially surprising with Charles Durning in the film. The "R" rating had to be for a couple of topless waitress scenes.
Jill Schoelen gets third billing and she's the star of the movie. Carol Kane, the star of the first film: When A Stranger Calls, helps out on this case, too, and it's nice to see her again.
