Fantastic!.......2007-09-11
I just got done watching the first episode of season 4 off the Unbox Video Downloads and I'm definitely hooked already... great storyline so far and as a person who saw seasons 1-3 on DVD during my deployment I would stay up late just to get to the end, and I think I may just be downloading the rest of the episodes before this season comes out on DVD, I'm that impatient!
It truly is a great series, despite the glamorous and beautiful people with glamorous and beautiful jobs... it's just fun to watch and do a little wishful thinking... even as a straight person I was so fascinated and intrigued, I absolutely love this series. I have nothing but positive things to say, and I may not be knowledgeable about the lesbian community to have my own facts 100% valid, but I thought this was great exposure for someone like myself who never knew a thing about it, and it's just beautiful. Although I admit, I do miss Dana, but bringing back Marina was a definite surprise!
The L word seen from France.......2007-09-02
I write from France where only 1st and 2nd season are now released on DVD!!! We're a bit late in fact. And as I'm a great fan, I ordered the 3rd season and certainly will for the 4th on amazon.com because I can't wait!!! Why we love The L word in France? Because for once, a program dealing with lesbians is not totally full of clichés about who we are. Maybe France is not as conservative as USA according to sex, but it's still something different to many people to be gay and hard to understand.Anyway, I will order the 4th season, watch it with my girlfriend and expect many other seasons of this great program!
THE L WORD - 4TH SEASON R-O-C-K-S!.......2007-08-16
I have watched and own the past 3 seasons of 'The L Word' and have preordered the 4th season. I intend to order every season after this, as well. It's historical. Even though, 'The L Word' is not butch/femme, femme/boi, stone butch, soft butch (ETC.) inclusive with the 501's and white t-shirts, it still is lesbian exposure....from the U.S., no less! In my opinion, ANY exposure is better than no exposure. We have a major network willing to deal with the subject of lesbianism. That, in itself, is a MAJOR deal considering the U.S. is sooooo narrow minded when it comes to the subject of sexuality. This is a step further. Every tiny step, eventually, will amount to lots of progress down the road. Probably, I won't see the inclusion of the much varied lesbian community on any network; however, this should not stop us from continuing to pave the path for the preteen lesbians out there who are desperately seeking ANY lesbian role models. The L Word is an asset to our community.
Don't Miss This One!.......2007-08-02
I have to address Jabber's comments above. I feel sad for you. It's this kind of uneducated close minded thinking that makes the world a little bit darker. Your mean spirited stereotypical comments only serve to try to make yourself feel better at the expense of people you don't even know. Your bigotry will likely add pain to other's lives as you perpetuate prejudice, discrimination & intolerance. That's not a legacy to be proud of. In the end it's you that I feel sorry for.
That being said here's what you really might want to know: This was a great season... much more upbeat than the previous season. The characters grow on you. Alice just gets better with each season (is she a cutie or what??)!
The LWord is a fun show!...but if you are looking for stereotypical butch lesbians you might want to keep on looking. This a TV show and the people are beautiful & glamorous. (If you check out other TV shows you may be shocked to find quite a few other beautiful & glamorous cops, housewives, doctors, detectives... and so on. It's part of our American culture.) BUT... I for one am not offended by beautiful & glamorous lesbians!!
So... my suggestion is buy this season and ENJOY!
lackluster and lazy.......2007-08-02
This season of he L word is probably the worst written season thus far. The story arc is disjointed, the individual character storylines appear to not have anything to do with the previous season's story arc and the camera work is pedantic. The music which was a standout element in season one and two is equally lackluster.
If you are a fan of the show save your money, and if you are a new to the show invest in season one or two.

Arguing With Myself, a recorded live performance of ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, portrays a comedian whose revival of an old-fashioned art has made ventriloquism more relevant to modern societal concerns. Starring his six main characters, from Bubba Jay, a Nascar-obsessed hick, to Peanut, a flamboyant gay monkey, Dunham's puppets have dirty but relatively inoffensive senses of humor that mock the American Dream. One can easily see why Jay Leno champions Dunham, as his skits contain a similar sly sarcasm disguised as wholesome teasing aimed at men indebted to their ugly wives, for example, or people who live their lives working in cubicles. At times, though, Dunham's humor seems to lose its ironic distance, especially as he interacts with puppets like Jose Jalapeño, a Cuban chile pepper, or Sweet Daddy D, a Black pimp, both reliant on the antiquated humor once popularized in cartoons by racial caricature. Since the entire audience in the film is white, it is difficult to assess whether or not African-Americans or Latinos would find Dunham funny. In other words, Dunham's humor isn't overtly offensive enough to make fun of ethnic heritage. However, his skills as a ventriloquist alone make him a fascinating entertainer, and anyone interested in how puppetry and ventriloquism has progressed over the decades would benefit from watching Dunham bring life to his wooden friends. --Trinie Dalton
Description
Breathing life into an elderly curmudgeon, a purple human-like creature from the Micronesian islands, and a self-effacing talking jalapeno on a stick, Jeff Dunham is straight man to some of the funniest partners in show business! His comedic skill and impeccable technique serve as slight of hand however, drawing attention away from the fact that Dunham is a ventriloquist extraordinaire.
It's Jeff Dunham along with his outspoken and often edgy characters: Walter, Peanut, Jose Jalapeno ("...on a steeek!"), Bubba J, and Sweet Daddy Dee in their full, uncut, and uncensored live stage show that will leave you on the floor laughing like no other!

Laugh........2007-09-17
I love to watch this video... especially on a tough day. The humor is great and Jeff is truly talented.
Brilliant!!.......2007-09-16
I saw jeff back in the early 90's at The Laff Stop in Montclair CA. He was newly married and his wife was sitting just behind us a few seats down. I laughed so hard my brother was worried about me. He thought I would eventually pass out and die. It's true! I was bent over having laughing spasms. A new joke would be told before I finished laughing from the last one. I couldn't keep up...LOL!!
This DVD hit me the same way. Jeff uses all his best stuff to create an hour of non-stop laughter. You won't be disappointed and most of you will become big fans, if not already so. Enjoy!!
Jeff Dunham - Arguing With Myself.......2007-09-15
This is one funny video. One thing I must say first off put the kids to bed for this one. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. If I had to choose my favorite puppet it would be hard to choose. "Peanut" is a clear sign of someone hyped up on to much suger. Walter is sign of a bitter man. Both are VERY FUNNY. If you want a laugh get this. I like the idea that it has a bleeped version and non bleeped version. Enjoy this one.
Exellent.......2007-09-15
This show is awsome in every way possible. I started laughing at the menu, and dident stop til hour's later, after the show. He really knows what he is doing... This is worth every dollar, people. and then some...
Jeff Dunham-Arguing With Myself.......2007-09-14
A hour of hilarious entertaniment. Jeff is funny but his pint size buddies steal the show!!

Building words is an exciting and empowering experience for young children (and frogs) who have mastered individual letters and their sounds. When young Tad wants to nominate his Dad for a "Best Dad" contest he asks his brother Leap and sister Lily for some help filling out the application. The three young frogs go see Professor Quigley at their Father's Talking Word Factory for a little instruction and get to watch the "Sticky-ick-o-rama" and the "Word Whammer" machines at work. Tad quickly discovers that vowels act as the glue that sticks letters together and then learns to combine individual letter sounds to make three-letter words, use common ending sounds to create rhyming words, and blend letter sounds to make even longer rhyming words. Phonemic awareness, vocabulary building, and rhyming are entertaining and fun thanks to familiar Leap Pad characters, colorful animation, and short songs. An interactive word game challenges young viewers to fill in the missing first letter in a variety of three-letter words. This program is a great next step for graduates of Leap Frog: Talking Letters Factory and children ages 3 to 6. Tami Horiuchi

Amazing DVD--Inspires children to learn!.......2007-08-23
We already have the Letter Factory and naturally, we wanted to move to the next step. We bought The Talking Words Factory for my son's 3rd birthday. He already knows the sounds of the letters, but he really didn't have the desire to put them together until this movie. He has watched it about 6 times in the last 2 weeks and is learning to spell words by sounding them out. It has even inspired him to learn to write them. My son is very entertained by the characters and songs, but also learns from them at the same time. I plan to continue purchasing all of the Leaf Frog DVDs.
Save your money!.......2007-08-16
Parents will be forced to slog through weak character plots that move at a glacial pace. Once Junior, FINALLY reaches the "teachable material", it's just a small portion of the dvd. Don't waste your money on this lame Leap Frog DVD.
Rock N Learn', cuts to the chase, with their DVD version of alphabet letter sounds and phonics. It's a much better alternative. Parents won't have to feign being "spellbound" for Juniors' sake. Granted, Rock N Learn' is twice the price, but well worth every penny.
Formerly Frustrated Homeschool Mom to 4.......2007-07-25
I had been really struggling with teaching my 5 yr old son his phonics with an intensive and sometimes boring curriculum, we were both tired and bored with it, but I was still struggling thru...he was learning it but wasn't enjoying it. I took time off and got the first 3 Leap Frog DVD's so he *might* still learn something and not go backwards while we regained our desire to teach phonics and learning to read......we took several months off and he watched the DVD's several times per month and the other day I decided to sing the songs like they do (while we were driving in the car) and I'd leave the letter sound blank and let him fill it in EX: "The A says____, the A says ____, Every Letter Makes a sound the A says ___" He could do almost all of them!!!! I was so surprised and happy! After all that effort and hard time of trying to teach him all I had to do was pop in a DVD? Granted not a complete curriculum but it sure gave us a break and a step up with phonics! THANKS LEAP FROG for making these DVD's. I have only let him watch the first two I am saving the 3rd one for a little later. They sure helped us. BTW my 3 yr old Son is also running around sounding out small words he saw on the DVD, and sings the sounds all the time while he plays! What an exciting time! I will use these as a supplement for all the kids learning to read program! I highly recommend them!
Worth every penny!.......2007-07-09
My boys, 6 and 4, absolutely love this movie! I think they're kind of cheesy but they are geared for children. After watching it only two times my 4 year old was running around trying to spell 3 letter words! Together they have built their own Talking Words Factory out of Legos and those alphabet refrigerator magnets. I am literally amazed that they spend hours (2 - 3 at a time) playing word factory and making up words. And they are really excited about making words! The funny thing is that they don't even know they are "learning" they think they're only playing!
It Taught My Child to Read!.......2007-06-21
I highly recommend this video. This one, along with the "Letter Factory" video taught my youngest child to read in about a week. She's 5 now and she and her sister still watch the video regularly. We recommend it to everyone who asks how to teach their children to read. Also, the "Complex Words Factory" video is great, too!

Great learning tools!.......2007-09-15
This is a great collection of learning resources. Both of my children (ages 4 and 2) quickly learned the sounds of the letters from Letter Factory. I couldn't believe how much faster they were able to learn the letter sounds using this video. I'd been trying for months with books!
Even I learned something.......2007-09-06
This is an excellent product (with 5 DVDs). A very good value. Our child likes to watch the videos and has been learning from them. I'd imagine that these videos would also help any adult wanting to learn english - since there are several rules explained about how letters & vowels work.
These are great DVD's.......2007-08-20
My daughter set right down to watch them, she watches them all the time on her own. It's not often you can find educational shows kids LIKE to watch and actually do it becuase they want to and not because you suggest it.
It's the best out in the market........2007-08-16
It's the best out in the market. My 5 years old boy he love's and he is learning. Don't expend your money buying LEARN TO READ W PHONICS, it wasn't good. Leapfrog does teach and is fun.
Really good.......2007-08-15
My 3 year old son actually didn't like these all that well at first, but after he watched them all the way through one time, he decided he really enjoyed them after all. Now he watches them over and over and sings songs like, "punc, punc, punc, punctuation".
Description
Under the white guy "everyman" exterior lurks one of the cleverest original comedians of today. An established star in standup comedy and a frequent guest on the late shows of David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, Jim Gaffigan is a noted actor as well, from comedic turns in Super Troopers, That 70s Show and Sex and the City to dramatic roles in dozens of films and TV dramas. But here his unique comedy persona takes over -- cantankerous but endearing, clean but cutting, with an irrepressible "inside voice" that keeps wickedly popping out - to the delight of the audience in Chicago's historic Vic Theater. And now you can share their guffaws.
Customer Reviews:
He's weeeird.......2007-09-10
He has to be one of the funniest guys around. His humor for the most part is very clean, and anyone can relate. His routine is based on food, religion, and his wife.
If you like to laugh, check him out.
Very very funny, but also disappointing.......2007-08-31
Jim Gaffigan is hilarious! My husband and I loved his comedy, except for his references to porn, strippers, etc. We laughed so hard when he wasn't throwing in irrelevant dirty comments. We were disappointed to have to get rid of it, but knew we wouldn't enjoy watching this dvd knowing we'd have to listen to that.
Inner Voice = Annoying.......2007-08-30
The reviews on this being an entertaining piece of stand-up is a fair assesment. Though Gaffigan will not offend many people or shock anyone out of the room, the inner voice bit is annoying to no end. For every joke or comment he makes he adds a high-pitched "inner voice" comment. The crowd appears to be puzzled by this as well and he even makes fun of himself for doing it...in the annoying inner voice pitch. It is a clean stand up set and the jokes are of run of the mill situations, mostly about food and other average things. I did not relate to much of his humor. Im willing to bet that not many will be wowed by his genius or delivery.
A fan.......2007-08-27
Gaffigan is one of the best standup comedians around today. His act is a layer deeper than most, though in a way that's easy to understand. It's deeper because he's got that little "voice of the audience member" that pops up to comment on how he's doing. I love comedy, and this guy is one of my favorites.
Hilarious!.......2007-08-13
This was a great DVD, Jim is really funny and will keep you laughing through the whole act! Also great bonus features.

Light years before political correctness--1983 to be exact--or his comeback in tame Disney comedies, Eddie Murphy was a charismatic, wonderfully offensive, egocentric 22-year-old black comedian known for crude celebrity impersonations and often shockingly frank diatribes on racial and sexual politics. Dressed in a skin-tight red leather suit and delivering endless streams of obscenities faster than Richard Pryor ever did, Murphy is captured in this raunchy HBO special (a filmed document of his Grammy-winning album, Eddie Murphy, Comedian) at his confident, swaggering, comedic peak--a posture that soon disappeared after a string of bland Hollywood comedies. Here, however, his energy and sheer virtuosity command complete control over the audience for 107 minutes, whether he's mocking personalities like Elvis, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder, or spinning long, gag-filled personal anecdotes about the ice-cream man or dysfunctional family barbecues. There's no apologizing for the immature stereotyping, blatant homophobia, and sexism (though Murphy did so several years later) that surface during the routine. But, then again, unlike his much nastier, one-sided concert film, Raw, no topic here is safe from Murphy's uproarious tongue-lashings--including the comedian himself. --Dave McCoy

Delirious.......2007-08-27
I have the original VHS tape once I knew they had it on DVD I rush to go get it being from them is safe and I recommend them to anybody, great deal!!!
EDDIE! Delirious.......2007-07-22
A seminal DVD that oughta be in everyone's DVD collection!
About time this baby got released in DVD form, probably to pay for Eddie Murphy's growing legal and child-support bills!
lol!
If you like irreverent, in-your-face humor, this is it. Eddie is a direct descendant of Richard Pyror's style and then many other comedians copied Eddie. Funny as hell and thoroughly enjoyable!
I laughed until I was sick at my stomach.......2007-07-22
WOW - this is the original Eddie Murphy that brought him to the attention of the world. This has a "raunchy" rating of about a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10. You definitely do not want to watch this with your mother (or your gay friends or relatives). But I GUARANTEE that you will laugh until your sides hurt.
Eddie Murphy - Delirious.......2007-07-18
Simply hilarious!! Classic Eddie Murphy doing what he does best. I always said his stand-up comedy is so much better than his movies. You wont be disappointed.

still laughing.......2007-09-15
I am such a fan of John Pinette. Even though some of the material is also on "I Say Nay Nay" there are enough subtle differences to make it seem new. Just to watch his facial expressions makes his DVDs worth the price. This guy cracks me up.
FUNNY AS HE CAN BE!!.......2007-09-13
Seeing John Pinette in person at Uncle Funny's in Florida a few years ago was an unexpected treat. The audience was in hysterics. Watching his DVD only brought back many good laughs and a great time. Hopefully he will get to Florida again real soon. I'd travel to see him wherever he is.
Don't miss out on a great stand up comedian if you ever have any chance of seeing him.
OMG - too awesome.......2007-09-09
I had heard of John Pinette from my husbands friend, who had a cassette tape that he played in the car for us when we went to a party all together. John was awesome in that "buffet" tape - I loved it.
I decided to buy this CD as I saw the Comedy Central special one night but missed half of it... It was great as it made me laugh while my husband was away on business trip and I was home alone and feeling down.
I laughed and loved it but wanted to see the whole show.
I bought the CD and hubby and I watched it one night as our "date night" and we both had tears of laughter coming down from our eyes.
We had a blast watching John and you won't regret seeing this show as he is a master at making people laugh... He is wonderful and I'm soo happy with the choice of buying this from Amazon as I looked everywhere to find it ( I tried all the "other discount / dept stores ie: circuit city, best buy, even movie stores in mall) but none of them had John in there list of movies or soundtracks or comedians... such a shame in my opinion but then again - I feel John has the right idea pairing up with Amazon as you can rest assured that you get your order in a timely fashion and I've never had a problem ordering from Amazon..
THANKS JOHN for being with me on a lonely night by myself and also thanks for ALL THE LAUGHS you have given me and hubby and now my parents as I let my parent borrow the CD to watch and they also LOVED IT!
Keep up the awesome work John and THANK YOU!
Love from, Your Boston Fans
John Pinette a very funny man...........2007-09-06
John Pinette is a very funny comic. He has away of making you laugh, by making good sound fun of him self. He knows his foods and knows ways to make fun of it. Very Funny, try it, or just buy it... You'll like John Pinette.
John Pinette--I'm Starvin'.......2007-09-04
John Pinette is hystericaly funny in "I'm Starvin'". He is reminiscent of Jackie Gleason and Don Rickles, with his own sweet style of delivering the punchline. Everyone can relate to his "get outta the line" stories. If you enjoy travel stories and just love a good belly laugh, you will be thoroughly entralled with John Pinette! A very funny new comedian with a lot of heart...add this one to your library! Clean comedy too!

The third season of Showtime's The L Word is all about transitions. The season opens with Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey) coping with her between-seasons break-up with Dana Fairbanks (Erin Daniels), who is herself headed for an even heavier series of transitions. Kit Porter (Pam Grier) both falls in love with a younger man and discovers she is going through menopause. Shane (Katherine Moennig), who spent much of the first two seasons of the show hopping from bed to bed, finds herself more or less committed to Latina deejay Carmen (Sarah Shahi). And the second season's resident villain, Helena Peabody (Rachel Shelley), becomes embroiled in a sexual harassment case that leaves her ultimately looking like the victim. As with previous seasons, The L Word gets all hot and bothered with various seductions filmed to sometimes jarring music on the soundtrack, but it's the day-to-day foibles and celebrations of Los Angeles's lesbian community that keep the show interesting. Newcomer Moira/Max (Daniela Sea) begins the process of gender reassignment, making for some curious situations with potential employers. Bette (Jennifer Beals) and Tina (Laurel Holloman) begin to drift apart when Tina lands a big movie studio job and starts feeling attracted to men, leading to a custody battle over their baby daughter. Where The L Word starts getting preachy and obvious is in the opening flashback sequences. When these vignettes refer to current characters of the show, they make sense; when they depict situations meant to underline how queer identity has evolved over the years, they seem politically overloaded. The L Word works intelligently through its characters' concerns without having to resort to such direct appeals for tolerance. Its strength isn't in making lesbian culture appear more mainstream, but in making us care and identify with these women's struggles, regardless of our sexual orientation. --Ryan Boudinot

Dane Cook receives a rock star's welcome from a packed arena in this stand-up concert originally broadcast on HBO. But the jury may still be out on whether Cook is phenomenally funny or simply a phenomenon. He is certainly a master of the new media. Cook has savvily marketed himself on the Internet to his target college-age audience, and they have embraced him as a fellow "bro" and "dude," who would seemingly be awesome to party with. In his timbre and physicality, he has the shaggy, likeable quality of Will Farrell, another frat boy favorite. Cook is a man of his people. At one point, he is interrupted by a drunken Boston Red Sox fan who wants to shake his hand. Cook then leaps off the stage and chases him up the aisle to give him a send-off hug, all the while being clapped on the back and offered high and low fives by the cheering audience. Cook comes complete with arrested development lingo, such as "Here's what drove me banana sandwich," that will no doubt be repeated around the dorm.
Don't look to Cook for satirical insights on politics, the war, or even pop culture. His world view is much narrower. In Vicious Circle he expounds on the pleasures and traps of lying, male crying, being sneezed on, his father's robe, bad relationships, and sundry sexual matters that cannot be printed here. Cook takes awhile to get where he's going, but his digressions are often funnier than the pay offs. He puts the brakes on one story during which he mimes driving a car to remark that if he were actually driving this way, he would be all over the road. During other bits, he parses the different spray modes on Windex, and takes the phrase "being cheated on" literally. And it takes some kind of associative genius to compare a certain female body part to a high school stage theatre curtain. The less than well received Employee of the Month aside, Cook is currently king of the comedy hill. Vicious Circle offers a time capsule look at these heady good times for the great Dane. As for where he goes from here, the good news is that Steve Martin once filled arenas like this. The bad news: So did Andrew Dice Clay. --Donald Liebenson

Off the Chain.......2007-08-23
This guy is off the chain. I can't wait for the part II. He keeps it real and tells it, as it is. In reality, he says things that all of us wants or wanted to say. A must have!
Not Really Bad, But Could've Been Better..........2007-08-07
...while I certainly wouldn't give this one (1) star, I don't think it deserved a five (5) star rating either. Kat Williams is funny. Don't get it twisted but, knowing what I do know he (and Mike Epps who like a lot) just need more experience as far as stand-up routines go. Both of these cat's have to talent to push the boundaries of black comedy even further. I'd love to see that. Unfortunately, too many newer comics have simply recycled old cliche's and updated older jokes from the 80's and 90's. Peace.
Who let the Katt out?.......2007-08-03
I really did enjoy this show. Katt is very graphic in his language, he paints pictures with his words. This is the kind of show that will grow on you, mark my words.
Dipset!!!!! Dipset!!!!! Dipset!!!!!!!.......2007-07-07
I guess you have to watch this DVD to see what I mean about Dipset. But on some real talk I have watched this comedy show about 30 times. This DVD is funny as Hell. Katt knows how to keep it real and keep you laughing no matter what type of mood you are in. If you are a comedy fan you really need to cop this DVD.Katt Williams - The Pimp Chronicles Part 1
